Who is Sonar?

Sonar is driving the future of agent-centric software development. As the leader in AI code review and verification, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI-assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable.

Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI-generated code.

We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent-Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI-generated code via products like:

SonarQube: The world’s leading AI code review and verification platform.
SonarQube Foundation Agent: Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair.
SonarSweep & Sonar Context Augmentation: Providing the enterprise-grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective.

Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE:

Committed to our customers and community.
Obsessed with quality.
Deliberate in our decisions.
Effective as one team.

With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast-paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you’re hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you.

Gitar.ai is an AI-native code review platform that uses AI agents to support pull request validation and CI workflows by reviewing code, diagnosing failures, proposing fixes, and adding tests and validations directly within existing development processes. Gitar automatically makes every change production-ready, approves and merges routine changes, involves humans only in exception cases, and learns from each exception to improve over time. In that model, humans oversee the end-to-end process rather than manually reviewing every change.

Position description

Sonar is looking for a passionate, seasoned product designer to join our Product Design team. You will fundamentally shape the experience of our (agentic and human) users as they build the software of the future. You'll help ensure that our developer and agent users write better code, navigate complex codebases, and leverage AI agents to accelerate large-scale code changes.

In your product area, you will work closely with Product Management and Engineering teammates to ensure that the proposed solutions meet the expected outcome and that we collectively deliver the best products to help development teams write better and more secure code. You will also collaborate with other designers and researchers across the organization, ensuring consistency and contributing to best practices.

What you will do

Own and lead product design across your squad, setting design direction and raising the bar for craft, quality, and strategic thinking.
Build for AI agents as first class users. You won't just be designing a compelling experience for human users, you will also ensure that the product works exceptionally well for our silicon-based users too!
Integrate AI into every stage of your design workflow, leveraging it to accelerate research synthesis, automate repetitive tasks, and explore high-fidelity prototypes more efficiently.
Listen to our users and customers to understand their needs. Develop a deep understanding of the SDLC and how we can enable developers and AI agents to produce better quality software.
Work closely with other product designers to ensure a cohesive information architecture and a unified experience across the entire product platform.
Align with your product manager on problem definition, providing design solutions throughout the end-to-end development stage.
Partner with engineering teams early in the design process to vet technical feasibility and uncover edge cases.
Mentor fellow designers through critique, pairing, and feedback — actively investing in the team's growth and raising collective craft.
Shape and advance the Product Design team's processes, tools, and collaborative frameworks — not just contributing to them, but taking genuine ownership of their evolution.
Have the opportunity to work and experiment daily with a variety of AI tools and models, doing real work.

Experience and qualifications

Experience organizing complex environments into logical structures and mapping user journeys that minimize friction.
Demonstrated curiosity and practical experience using AI tools to accelerate research, ideation and design velocity.
A self-starter mindset with the drive to identify UX gaps and propose structural improvements without being prompted.
Ability to articulate design decisions and the "why" behind them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working in a cross-functional environment where feedback is shared openly and success is a team effort.
Delivery mindset. Your role does not end when the design is handed off.
Track record of driving design strategy and establishing patterns that scale beyond your immediate squad — influencing the broader product and design organization.
Familiarity with software development workflows, the SDLC, or a background in computer science — you don't need to write production code, but you need to think alongside engineers who do.
Experience designing AI workflows or agent-driven experiences is a strong plus, and will meaningfully shorten your onboarding ramp.
