Redesign the "Immune System" of the Internet
When Spotify stops playing, Amazon can't process orders, or a bank's app goes dark - it’s an incident. Behind the scenes, a team of engineers is scrambling to fix it. ilert is the platform they rely on to detect the issue, organize the response, and resolve the panic.
But the landscape is shifting. We are moving beyond simple paging to Agentic Incident Management. Our AI SRE doesn't just watch; it acts. It analyzes logs, correlates deployments, and suggests remediation, working alongside humans to restore stability.
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape this new reality. This is not a role for someone who wants to "paint the screens" after the decisions have been made. This is a role for a Manager of One—a systems thinker who can own the user experience from the first abstract idea to the final pixel in production.
If you admire the functional elegance of Linear, the data-depth of Datadog, and the developer-centricity of Vercel, ilert is your next home.
Tasks
Your Mission
Your goal is to build a platform that turns chaos into clarity. You will bridge the gap between complex machine learning and a stressed human engineer at 3:00 AM. You will design the interface between human intuition and artificial intelligence, creating trust in a system that makes autonomous decisions.
What You Will Do:
- Architect Agentic Interfaces: Pioneer new UX patterns for Human-AI collaboration. How do we visualize an AI agent's decision-making process so an SRE trusts it enough to hit "Approve"?
- Manage Cognitive Load: Design for the "3:00 AM User." You will practice reductive design, stripping away the noise of a comprehensive platform to present only the signal required for triage and resolution during a crisis.
- Own the Lifecycle: You don't wait for tickets. You lead the process, from engaging with customers to define the problem, to sketching low-fidelity concepts, to delivering high-fidelity Figma prototypes.
- Scale the Design System: Evolve our design system, ensuring it maps cleanly to our frontend stack
- Data Visualization: Design complex data displays - timelines of incidents, service dependency graphs, and heatmaps - ensuring they remain legible and actionable under pressure.
- Mobile-First Excellence: Treat our iOS and Android apps as first-class citizens, ensuring the entire incident lifecycle can be managed seamlessly from a phone.
Requirements
- A Manager of One: You don't need to be told what to do next. You set your own goals, manage your own time, and drive projects to completion. You thrive in environments with high autonomy.
- Technically Fluent: You understand the constraints of the browser. You know how Flexbox works and can speak the language of engineers.
- A Craftsman/Craftswoman: You care about the details. You believe enterprise software should feel as magical as consumer products. You sweat the micro-interactions, the empty states, and the loading animations.
- Systems Thinker: You design for the system, not just the screen. You understand how a change in one part of the product (e.g., On-Call Schedules) ripples through to others (e.g., Escalation Policies).
- Experienced: 3+ years in Product Design, with a portfolio demonstrating complex B2B SaaS or Developer Tool design.
Benefits
- 🚀 Agentic AI Frontier: You’ll be at the forefront of the AI-SRE revolution, building real-world Human-AI collaboration patterns.
- 🏡 Hybrid Freedom: Join us in our gorgeous Rheinauhafen office (3 days a week) with a world-class roof terrace; work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- 🕒 Focus > Meetings: We protect "Maker Time." We minimize syncs and favor asynchronous writing and tools like Loom and Notion.
- 🌴 28 Days Off: Plus public holidays and a culture that values sustainable ambition over burnout.
- 🚲 Commute Perks: Subsidized public transport (Deutschlandticket).
At ilert, we hire for talent and autonomy. We don’t just want someone to execute a roadmap - we want someone to help invent the future of incident response.
