Work is being rewritten, and the people holding the pen are the ones who actually run it.
With enterprise-grade governance, flexible model choice, and a collaborative interface for humans and agents to work together, Dust empowers AI Operators at the world’s fastest-moving companies to rewire how work gets done.
With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We don't get piloted and shelved. We land once, and spread. We're at an exciting stage of our journey, and growing fast.
We're serving great customers like Datadog, 1Password, Cursor, Clay, Vanta and Persona, and aim to x5 our growth by the end of 2026.
Dust is backed by Sequoia with a determined team of optimists (coming from Stripe, OpenAI, and Stanford) who like to focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously while doing so. The Generalist named us among the Future 50.
Dust is building the AI operating system that transforms how companies work, already used weekly by 70%+ of our customers' teams. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who can tackle ambiguous product problems across our platform, working in close partnership with engineering in a highly technical environment where AI capabilities evolve weekly.
This isn't a typical design role. You'll define the end-to-end experience for how humans collaborate with AI agents, shaping a product category that lacks established patterns yet. You need strong discovery and product thinking to frame the right problems, exceptional UI craft to execute elegant solutions, and the communication skills to influence direction across a lean, technical team.
You'll thrive here if you're excited by:
Defining a new product category: Creating interaction patterns for AI agents that don't exist yet
High impact, high autonomy: Owning entire product areas from discovery through delivery with massive scope
Technical depth: Working alongside world-class engineers (ex-Stripe, OpenAI) who value craft and move fast
Real usage at scale: Seeing your work used daily by customers like Cursor, Clay, Whatnot, and Persona
Product-First: We're laser-focused on delightful product experiences with existing LLMs, not building foundation models.
Small, High-Impact Team: Alumni from Stripe, Square, OpenAI. We're keeping the team intentionally small—every person has massive scope and impact.
Transparency & Collaboration: Our repository is open source. We share information openly because the best ideas emerge from serendipity and open exchange.
Proactive Problem-Solving: See something broken? Fix it—without waiting for permission. We create solutions, not wait for them.
Ship to Learn: We move fast and learn from real user feedback. Speed matters.
Intellectual Humility: Strong convictions, loosely held. We advocate confidently for our ideas while staying open to new perspectives. If new data emerges, we adapt quickly.
Own end-to-end product areas from discovery through delivery. Defining problems, exploring solutions, shipping designs, and measuring impact
Lead product discovery by working with users, analysing behaviour, and framing ambiguous problems into actionable design opportunities
Create exceptional UI that balances simplicity with powerful functionality in a complex, AI-driven product
Partner deeply with engineering to understand technical constraints, explore what's possible, and influence implementation decisions
Shape product direction by presenting work clearly, building conviction with stakeholders, and advocating for user needs
Contribute across disciplines when needed. Research, prototyping, brand, or even code, in true early-stage startup fashion
Raise the bar by providing guidance to less experienced designers with a "no-ego, do-what-it-takes" attitude
Discovery & Product Thinking
You can frame design problems by understanding user needs, business constraints, and technical possibilities
You ask sharp questions that reveal insights others miss
You know when to explore broadly vs. converge on solutions
UI Craft & Execution
You create polished, thoughtful interfaces that balance aesthetics with usability
Your portfolio shows end-to-end thinking, not just pretty screens
You understand systems thinking and how details compound
Communication & Influence
You can articulate your thinking clearly, explaining the why behind decisions, not just the what
You present work confidently and handle feedback constructively
You influence without authority in cross-functional settings
5+ years of product design experience, with at least 2 years working on complex B2B or technical products
Comfortable in technical environments: You understand engineering constraints and can work effectively with technical teams
Generalist mindset: Willing to step outside pure design when needed. Research, prototyping, brand, or light coding
Startup experience preferred: You've worked in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where you had to define your own scope
Competitive compensation: €60,000 - €110,000 base salary depending on experience and seniority*
Significant equity at all levels of seniority in a Sequoia-backed startup
Relocation support: Up to €10,000 for relocation to Paris, including apartment search and visa assistance
Health insurance for you and your dependents
Equipment: New MacBook Pro or Linux machine, monitor, keyboard, etc.
Beautiful office in the heart of Paris (4 days/week in-office)
US travel: Opportunity to visit our US operations multiple times per year
Regular team events and offsite gatherings
*We can go higher for outstanding profiles.
We're prioritizing building our team with an in-person culture at our offices in Paris, London, San Francisco, and New York because we value the magic that happens when talented people work closely together.
We have an office-first culture. Some of the best things about building at Dust are the energy, the fast decisions, and the unexpected conversations that unlock a hard problem, which happen because we are in the same room. Being together is not a formality, it is how we do our best work, and it is something we actively protect.
That said, we hire people with strong judgement and we extend that trust to how they manage their time. When working from home makes more sense for what you need to get done that day, we trust you to make that call.
The models are powerful enough. What's missing is the product layer where AI meets how companies actually work. That's what we're building: the infrastructure that lets any team turn scattered knowledge and tools into coordinated execution with agents they build, own, and run themselves.
We use Dust ourselves every day. We get to shape how humans and agents collaborate while solving our own problems with the product we ship. That loop is rare, and it's why we move fast.
If you're excited about defining a new category and want to join a determined team of optimists who focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously, we'd love to talk.
Even if you don't check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we're more interested in your potential and passion than a perfect match to our checklist.
