Senior Process Control Engineer

Remote Position | 50%–75% Travel

Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Control Engineer to join a corporate Process Control Center of Excellence. This position will leverage engineering expertise to troubleshoot complex control issues, improve the performance and reliability of existing control systems, and develop new strategies to enhance overall process performance.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Southeast, although candidates located anywhere in the U.S. may be considered. This position requires frequent travel to manufacturing sites across the country and will support continuous manufacturing operations, with a primary focus on fiberline processes within pulp and paper mills.

What You Will Do

• Support manufacturing sites in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient control systems.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for daily manufacturing operations.
• Advise operations teams on the selection and implementation of process control technologies and strategies.
• Partner with local operations and process control teams to optimize existing control systems and improve process performance.
• Design, program, modify, and optimize control strategies within existing DCS platforms.
• Develop engineering solutions to address equipment and process deficiencies.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert on both large- and small-scale capital projects.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical, Paper Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience working with DCS-based control systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and design.
• Ability and willingness to travel 50%–75%.

Qualifications

• Experience working within the fiberline area of a pulp and paper mill.
• 10+ years of professional experience with DCS-based control systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and design.
• Experience with Honeywell TDC, Honeywell Experion, or Emerson DeltaV.
