At Valcon, we help organisations across Europe become fit for the future – combining consulting, data and technology to realise real transformation. We work end-to-end: from boardroom strategy to concrete implementation on the work floor. Our approach is pragmatic, fast and collaborative. No buzzwords, just results.

Our culture is defined by ownership, entrepreneurship and continuous learning. We believe in growing together – through mentorship, trust and the freedom to shape your own path. We offer flexibility, challenge, and the opportunity to work on projects that matter.

You’ll join our fast-growing Low-Code capability, with over 100 Mendix professionals across Europe – including 26 experts and 3 MVPs in the Netherlands alone. Our team works on high-impact projects for clients like IND/COA, Prorail, Defensie, BAM, Heineken with a strong focus on collaboration, quality and long-term solutions. Many of our projects are international – such as our recent engagement in Denmark, where our hybrid team (NL, DK, KR) delivers scalable solutions from design to delivery. Whether you want to specialise, coach others or lead engagements: you’ll find the space and support to grow.

Tasks

What will you do?

As a (Senior) Principal Mendix Consultant, you bring together strategic thinking, platform expertise and strong leadership. You’ll lead multidisciplinary project or DevOps teams with full end-to-end ownership – from uncovering client needs to delivering scalable, future-ready applications.

You take the lead in workshops, architecture and design decisions, translating complex business challenges into impactful IT-solutions – ranging from mobile and workflow apps to data-driven and integrated platforms. Increasingly, you’ll work on solutions that leverage AI, smart automation and advanced integrations to unlock new business value.

Beyond delivery, you’ll play a key role in shaping our Low-Code capability. You help scale teams, raise engineering standards, and contribute to strategy, talent development and internal best practices. As a technical lead, you’re also actively involved in pre-sales, shaping proposals and leading proof-of-concepts for new clients.

Depending on your interests, you can further grow towards strategic client ownership, technical depth or mentoring responsibilities – always with the freedom to shape your own path.

Among your responsibilities will be the following:

• Designing, developing and testing innovative Mendix solutions in an agile way.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and acting as technical lead in delivery projects: guiding architecture, workshops, design decisions, and quality
• Leading and coaching multiple Mendix teams, sometimes across different clients and domains.
• Tackling complex technical challenges and shaping long-term platform strategies.
• Coaching developers and consultants to grow their skills and confidence with the Mendix platform.
• Supporting pre-sales activities and helping shape client proposals and proof-of-concepts.
• Strengthening our Low-Code capability through improved standards, best practices and strategic team development.

Requirements

Experience:

• A completed Bachelor’s, Master’s or technical HBO degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Econometrics, Mathematics or a related field.
• At least 4 years of working experience as Mendix specialist/application developer and Mendix Advanced Developer certification.
• Nice to have: Mendix Expert Developer Certification and/or a specialisation in a domain like UI/UX, Architecture or custom (react/java) development.
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Located in The Netherlands
