Senior platform engineer at Halliburton's Landmark geoscience software unit in Calgary, owning deployment, reliability, and operations of AI-enabled platforms: building CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes environments, infrastructure-as-code, and observability on Azure/AWS, including agent runtimes and MCP-based AI infrastructure.
We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.
You will be responsible for the deployment, operation, and reliability of next-generation AI-enabled software platforms. Our products combine modern web applications, cloud-native services, and agentic AI frameworks that coordinate multiple specialized agents and tools to automate complex geoscience workflows.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure engineering, AI platform operations, and DevOps. You will help define how applications move from development to production, working closely with software engineers, AI engineers, visualization engineers, and architects to build secure, scalable, and repeatable deployment workflows.
You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code, observability systems, and runtime environments that support both traditional enterprise applications and modern AI-driven systems.
You will build software for the following domain:
Technologies used may include:
Energy industry experience is not required but is a strong plus
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, Principal Software Development, and Technical Advisor Software Development.
The engineer who succeeds in this role brings independent judgment to their work and applies it consistently. You own your assignments end to end, communicate clearly when something is off track, and treat code reviews as a genuine quality tool rather than a formality. You are comfortable working across time zones, adaptable when requirements shift, and focused on delivery outcomes rather than task completion. You pick up new tools and techniques on your own, evaluate them critically, and bring the ones that work to your team. You help the engineers around you improve because you understand that team quality compounds over time.
We build small, high-ownership teams and invest in the quality of every person on them. You will work in a business where software is the product, the work you do matters, and the standards are high. You will own real work that ships, learn from engineers who push you, and grow into the kind of engineer the team relies on.
We offer competitive compensation, a strong career path, and a role where you own what you build, and your impact is visible.
