MHS is seeking a full-time on-site Senior Network Engineer with compensation starting between $92K - $122K, depending on experience & qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package. The Senior Network Engineer is part of our Infrastructure Team and one of three professionals that oversee the campus network, telecommunication and cable plant systems that span over 6,000 acres and encompasses over 350 buildings across Hershey, PA. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and support of core infrastructure technology systems and services. This includes wired and wireless data networks, inside and outside cable plants, VoIP phone systems and other telecom systems/services.
Key responsibilities\:
Work with our team of 30+ IT professionals and 3rd party contractors to ensure their data and telecom system needs and the needs of the school are met in a timely manner.
Mentors the Infrastructure Specialist responsible for daily ticket resolution and system administration and fosters the growth and professional development of other IT team members.
Support our existing core infrastructure technology and ensure the following work is performed in a professional, consistent, and timely manner\:
Preventative maintenance and patching
Proactive monitoring of all critical systems to identify issues ensure 24x7x365 up-time by troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
Provide after-hours support for critical systems on a rotating basis ensuring prompt respond, resolution and communication
Respond to all routine daily tasks
Oversee all core data and telecom infrastructure technology projects from start to finish
Participate in the creation and vetting of RFP, RFI, RFQ, and ROI documents
Evaluate solutions\\options, present findings to management, and make recommendations
Create and update project plans, schedules and statuses on a timely basis
Ensure projects are prioritized and completed in a timely and professional manner with attention to detail and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed on the status. This includes effectively collaborating with other members of the IT department and other leadership and positions around the campus.
Design and implement core infrastructure technologies for campus construction projects
Perform general administrative tasks
Assist with creating and maintaining policies and procedures relating to core data and telecom technology systems and services
Collaborate with the IT Information Security Team to identify and implement approved security controls to ensure vulnerabilities and risks are mitigated in a timely manner.
Assist the Dir. of Infrastructure with maintenance and support contracts for all required services.
Create and maintain accurate infrastructure system documentation and policies.
Assist with annual operating and capital budget planning for data and telecom systems.
