Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About Bedrock Talent

At Bedrock Talent, we’re intentional about the companies we represent.

We don’t partner with every startup that comes our way. We work with founders we’d be excited to work for ourselves, companies solving meaningful problems, and teams we genuinely believe have the potential to build category-defining businesses.

This is one of those companies.

About the Company

Our client is an AI company at the forefront of conversational intelligence, building technology that helps organizations better understand human communication in real time.

Its platform combines cutting-edge machine learning with developer-first infrastructure to help enterprises detect harmful behavior, prevent fraud, protect users, and create safer digital experiences.

With a growing customer base and a highly accomplished machine learning team, the company is investing in the technology and infrastructure needed to bring these AI capabilities to developers and enterprise customers at scale.

The Opportunity

We are searching for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help advance the company’s conversational intelligence capabilities.

You will design, train, evaluate, and deploy production-grade machine learning models that directly power customer-facing products. This role sits at the intersection of applied research and engineering, offering the opportunity to experiment with emerging techniques while solving complex, real-world problems at scale.

You will collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, product leaders, and company executives to translate business needs into reliable and scalable ML solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models for production applications.

• Conduct experiments to improve model quality, accuracy, robustness, efficiency, and scalability.

• Collaborate with research, engineering, product, and leadership teams to define and execute machine learning initiatives.

• Partner with platform and infrastructure engineers to operationalize, monitor, and maintain ML systems in production.

• Analyze model performance and identify opportunities for continued improvement.

• Communicate technical findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the company’s broader technical strategy and the future direction of its ML systems.

• Review code, share knowledge, and mentor teammates.

• Stay current on advances in machine learning and identify practical opportunities to apply new techniques.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience conducting machine learning research and shipping models into production.

• Strong experience building and deploying production-grade machine learning systems.

• Advanced proficiency with Python and PyTorch.

• Experience designing experiments and evaluating model performance.

• The ability to work across research and engineering disciplines to deliver measurable business impact.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

• Experience collaborating effectively across engineering, product, research, and leadership teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience sharing research through papers, conferences, open-source projects, or other public contributions.

• Experience working with audio, speech, or related machine learning systems, including ASR, TTS, or speaker modeling.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.

• Experience building or maintaining large-scale ML infrastructure or MLOps systems.

• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The company believes in transparent and equitable compensation. In addition to a competitive salary and meaningful equity, employees receive:

• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

• HSA and FSA options

• Flexible PTO and 15 company holidays

• Hybrid work flexibility

• Up to eight weeks per year of working from anywhere

• Professional-development and career-growth resources

• Leadership and technical learning sessions

• Weekly team lunches with dietary accommodations

• An inclusive, human-centered culture that values both high performance and long-term sustainability

Salary Range: $180,000–$200,000 base, plus equity

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated machine learning problems with a direct path from research to production.

You will have meaningful ownership over models that power real products, influence the company’s technical direction, and collaborate with a team that values experimentation, intellectual rigor, and practical business impact.

The role is particularly compelling for someone who enjoys moving between research and engineering, wants to see their work used at scale, and is excited to help shape the future of conversational AI.
