Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Clevedon, Somerset
Salary: £52,000 + up to 7.5% bonus
Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Clevedon.
You'll focus on improving existing products, investigating mechanical faults and developing solutions to improve reliability, safety and performance.
You'll work closely with manufacturing, quality, field service and suppliers to resolve technical issues and deliver engineering improvements.

Desirable: Semiconductor equipment experience, Chartered Engineer status or Functional Safety qualifications.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Clevedon.
You'll focus on improving existing products, investigating mechanical faults and developing solutions to improve reliability, safety and performance.
You'll work closely with manufacturing, quality, field service and suppliers to resolve technical issues and deliver engineering improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate mechanical faults and identify root causes.
- Develop and validate design improvements.
- Manage engineering changes, drawings and specifications.
- Find replacement components and manage supplier changes.
- Improve product reliability, quality and cost.
- Ensure designs meet safety and compliance standards.
- Work with other teams to resolve technical issues.
About You
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in mechanical engineering and design.
- Experience working in a regulated engineering environment.
- Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills.
- Knowledge of product development and design-for-manufacture.
- Experience investigating faults and implementing solutions.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
