Operational Strategy Department inside the Operations Function and reporting SVP Operational Strategy BW Offshore leverages more than four decades of experience in operating advanced offshore production systems and executing complex projects. The Operational Strategy Department requires an additional senior resource to support the increasing portfolio of new opportunities and operational strategy activities across the business. The role will provide experienced operational input throughout the opportunity and asset lifecycle, including opportunity evaluation, concept development and challenge, development of operational strategies, lifecycle and OPEX considerations, and support to the transition into Operational Readiness and Operations. The position is intended to strengthen the Department’s capacity to support multiple opportunities in parallel while ensuring early Operations involvement and effective cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Projects, Engineering, Operational Readiness and the operating organization. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Coordinate operational input to new business opportunities prior to DG1b, ensuring coherence, quality and timely delivery across all contributing workstreams. Develop Opportunity Operational Strategies, including operating philosophies, O M concepts, manning assumptions, logistics and lifecycle approaches for assigned opportunities. Partner with Tenders, Commercial and Concept Development to embed operational requirements, operability and long-term sustainability from the earliest stages of opportunity development. Challenge and support OPEX estimates and operating models, applying fleet lessons learned, benchmarking and industry practice to drive lifecycle value and performance improvement. Provide operational input to concept evaluation and Value Engineering, identifying opportunities to optimise CAPEX, OPEX and operability through established company processes. Support continuity of operational strategy post-DG1b through Projects, Operational Readiness and into Operations, escalating material divergence through governance and assurance processes. Contribute to Asset Management activities, including the Asset Reference Plan, budget and forecast challenge, OPEX performance reviews and material value cases through existing governance frameworks. Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Operations, Engineering, Finance, Tenders and other functions, and represent operational strategy in decision gates, workshops and management reviews. Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of progressive international experience within the offshore oil and gas industry, preferably including FPSO, FSO, O M or comparable offshore operating environments. Substantial experience in offshore operations and/or project development, with a strong understanding of the interface between concept development, project execution, Operational Readiness and operations. Demonstrated experience supporting opportunity development, concept evaluation, operating strategy, O M models, operability reviews or lifecycle value assessments. Practical experience challenging operating assumptions, OPEX, manning, logistics, maintenance concepts and lifecycle cost drivers. Experience contributing to Value Engineering, concept optimisation or similar cross-functional challenge processes is advantageous. Strong track record of working across multidisciplinary and matrix organisations and influencing outcomes without relying on direct functional authority. Experience working with clients, operators, partners, EPC contractors and international project or operating teams is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to translate operating experience and lessons learned into practical recommendations for future opportunities and assets. Skills: Commercially aware and operationally grounded, with a pragmatic and delivery-focused approach. Strong judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively while remaining collaborative. Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, influencing and relationship-management skills. Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex operationl matters in a concise and decision-oriented manner. Comfortable working across cultures, disciplines, organisational levels and geographic locations. High standards of integrity, credibility, professional maturity and personal accountability. Flexible team orientation, with willingness to support different Operational Strategy capability ares as business priorities change.
