You'll play a key role in influencing technical decisions, advocating for engineering best practice and shaping the standards, architecture and culture of the team.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work across platform, architecture, governance and business teams to deliver secure, scalable and well-governed solutions. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to incident management, continuous improvement and the future direction of AI engineering within the Group.

What we're looking for

• Advanced software engineering expertise, including software design patterns, programming concepts, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.

• Strong Python development experience in a commercial machine learning environment, including libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn and XGBoost.

• Experience working with cloud-based machine learning and data platforms, including technologies such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run or equivalent cloud services.

• Practical experience implementing MLOps tooling and frameworks such as Kubeflow Pipelines, dbt or similar solutions, including monitoring and operationalising large-scale models.

• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, API authentication and distributed systems within enterprise environments.

And any experience of these would be great

• Exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, ADK or similar technologies.

• Experience configuring and optimising Large Language Models (LLMs), balancing performance, risk and cost considerations.
