Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager

About Sequencing:

Sequencing is the world’s largest direct-to-consumer whole genome sequencing platform, helping define the future of AI-powered personalized health.

We’re a profitable, venture-backed, fully remote company building products that turn clinical-grade whole genome sequencing into meaningful, personalized insights. Through AI and a rapidly expanding ecosystem of genomic applications, we help people better understand their health and future.

The human genome is one of the most valuable and underutilized resources in the world. Our mission is to transform it into a lifelong source of personalized guidance – and build the trusted home for every genome on Earth.

Join us in helping build the interface between humanity and its DNA!

The opportunity

As Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing & Retention at , you will own the strategy and hands-on execution of the customer lifecycle across email, SMS, push, and in-product messaging.

This is a highly analytical role for someone who wants to understand exactly how customers move through the product – from purchase and DNA kit activation through sequencing results, delivery, subscription engagement, retention, and win-back. You will dig into large, complex customer datasets, identify where customers convert or drop off, and turn those insights into personalized lifecycle programs that measurably improve activation, engagement, retention, and long-term subscription value.

You will work closely with Growth, Product, Data, Engineering, Bioinformatics, and Customer Success to translate complex genomic and health insights into clear, motivating experiences that help customers get more value from their DNA over time.

The right person combines strategy, hands-on execution, clear messaging, experimentation, and deep analytical curiosity.

What you'll own

• Own lifecycle marketing strategy across activation, engagement, retention, win‑back, and referral for Sequencing’s subscription products.

• Analyze the entire customer journey to understand behavior, conversion, engagement, churn, and lifetime value across key customer segments.

• Work directly with customer and product data – including large subscription datasets – to identify lifecycle gaps, behavioral patterns, drop-off points, and growth opportunities.

• Plan, write, build, launch, and optimize lifecycle campaigns across email, SMS, push, and in‑product messaging.

• Build and continuously improve automated programs spanning onboarding, kit activation, education, results delivery, feature adoption, subscription engagement, retention, win-back, and referral.

• Translate complex genetic and scientific concepts into clear, personalized, benefit‑driven messages for non-expert audiences.

• Use AI tools to increase speed and quality of ideation, content development, quality assurance, analysis, and iteration.

• Partner with Product, Data, and Engineering to improve event tracking, data quality, experimentation, and the infrastructure needed to power sophisticated lifecycle programs.

• Define clear hypotheses and success metrics for lifecycle programs, then design rigorous tests across messaging, offers, audiences, timing, channels, and workflows.

• Move beyond topline reporting to investigate why performance changed and determined what action to take next.

Who you are

• 7+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally with a DTC subscription or SaaS focus.

• Expert‑level understanding of email and lifecycle platforms (e.g., Blueshift, Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, or similar tools).

• Hands‑on experience with Segment or a similar CDP to power advanced segmentation, dynamic content, and event‑driven journeys.

• Proven track record building and scaling automated lifecycle flows (onboarding, engagement, retention, win‑back, referral) that move core business metrics.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of lifecycle or CRM campaigns showing strong copy and clear impact.

• Ability to translate technical or scientific content into approachable, benefit‑focused language for non‑expert audiences.

• Strong analytical skills and experience using dashboards and simple analyses to make data‑driven decisions.

• Deep familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing across email and CRM channels.

• Comfortable using AI tools as a daily co‑pilot to brainstorm, draft, refine, and analyze lifecycle work.

Why Sequencing?

For decades, the human genome has been one of the world’s richest sources of health information—but most people have never been able to truly understand or use it.

We’re changing that.

At Sequencing, we’re transforming billions of genetic variants, decades of scientific research, and constantly evolving genomic knowledge into technology people can interact with naturally and trust when making decisions about their health.

This isn’t about building another health application. It’s about creating an entirely new category of technology that brings together bioinformatics, genetics, and consumer health to improve and extend millions of lives.

Your work won’t just help build Sequencing—it will help redefine how people understand themselves through their DNA for decades to come.
