About the role
You will lead the coordination and development of Year 1 and 2 Pathology teaching, working collaboratively with colleagues across Sydney, Fremantle, and Broome to deliver an integrated biological sciences curriculum within the MD program.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver Pathology teaching across the MD Foundation Years.
- Collaborate with curriculum, academic, and clinical teams to integrate Pathology learning across the MD program.
- Maintain and enhance curriculum resources, ensuring they are current, evidence-based, and innovative.
- Support the recruitment, training, and development of Pathology tutors and sessional educators.
- Partner with assessment and curriculum teams to align learning outcomes and assessments.
- Design, deliver, and mark formative and summative assessments.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Pathology and BCS teaching.
- Drive continuous improvement through educational scholarship and evidence-based practice.
- Use student feedback and engagement data to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to domain meetings, committees, and School activities.
- Represent the BCS Domain and support broader School and University initiatives.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Level C Senior Lecturer
- Possession of a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional college.
- Expertise in the Pathological Sciences and preferably Experience in teaching at Masters level or higher or in medical, health sciences or professional practice-based education settings.
- Experience delivering engaging teaching across face-to-face, online, and blended environments.
- Strong team collaboration and leadership skills.
- Experience in collaborative and student-centred learning.
- Commitment to student support and pastoral care.
- Interest in educational scholarship and professional development.
- Experience using educational technologies and learning platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Level D Associate Professor
- Possession of a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional college.
- Advanced expertise and recognised standing in the Pathological Sciences, with substantial experience in teaching at Masters level or higher and/or in medical, health sciences or professional practice-based education settings.
- Sustained academic achievement at Associate Professor level.
- Extensive experience delivering high-quality teaching across multiple modes.
- Proven academic leadership and team management capability.
- Strong commitment to student engagement, wellbeing, and pastoral care.
- Ongoing contribution to scholarship, research, and professional practice.
- Skilled in educational technologies and innovative teaching approaches.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to influence and contribute to strategic and disciplinary priorities.
