Open Government Products (OGP) is an experimental technology team within the Singapore Government. We build technology for public good — creating products that directly improve the lives of millions of people in Singapore.
We operate with the speed and autonomy of a startup, while working on problems with national scale and impact. Our teams are made up of engineers, designers, product managers, and operators who identify real public problems, rapidly prototype solutions, and bring them into production.
Our products span citizen-facing services and critical internal government systems. We work in small, empowered teams with high ownership, minimal bureaucracy, and a strong open-source and engineering culture.
In 2024, over S$1.1 billion was lost to scams in Singapore. Victims range from elderly folks losing their life savings to young professionals deceived through increasingly sophisticated government impersonation scams. Public education alone is no longer enough. Preventing scams at scale requires trusted infrastructure, secure communication systems, and technology that can stay ahead of rapidly evolving threats.
The Secure Government Communications (SGC) team builds systems that help Singaporeans distinguish legitimate government communications from scams.
Our products include:
Postman - a secure messaging platform that enables government agencies to communicate officially and safely with the public
Sender ID - Singapore’s unified trusted sender identity for government SMS communications
These systems sit at the intersection of security, reliability, identity, and public trust — serving millions of citizens and supporting critical national communications infrastructure.

We value engineers who:
Care deeply about building reliable, secure, and user-centric software.
Thrive in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
Balance pragmatism with strong engineering fundamentals.
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
Are motivated by meaningful public impact.

Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Don't hesitate to apply, even if you don't meet every qualification. If your background is a better fit for another engineering team at OGP, we may reach out to discuss those opportunities as part of the hiring process.
Work on problems that matter
Your work will directly impact how millions of Singaporeans interact with government services and stay protected from scams and digital threats.
Build with real ownership
Engineers at OGP own products end-to-end — from ideation and architecture to deployment and operations. You’ll have significant influence over technical decisions and product direction.
Solve meaningful technical challenges
Our systems require strong engineering across security, reliability, scalability, identity, messaging infrastructure, and developer tooling.
Move fast with strong teams
We keep teams lean and highly empowered. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, designers, and product builders who care deeply about craft and impact.
Grow continuously
We invest heavily in learning through hackathons, dedicated learning time, open-source contributions, and opportunities to explore new technologies and architectures.
Flexible hybrid work
We care more about outcomes than office presence, and support flexible hybrid work arrangements that work for both the team and individuals.
