Senior Java Developer with Italian (Integration & Azure)

Role

• Developing and maintaining backend services in Java and Spring Boot,
• Building REST APIs and integrating services within a distributed environment,
• Consuming and processing platform events and customer data in a near real-time integration landscape,
• Implementing event-driven solutions using Azure Event Hub or Kafka,
• Persisting and managing customer data in Azure SQL databases,
• Designing and maintaining microservices deployed on Azure,
• Working with enterprise integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Azure,
• Contributing to API design and documentation using OpenAPI / Swagger,
• Working with Docker and Kubernetes,
• Collaborating with the team on code quality, testing, and continuous delivery.

Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development,
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot,
• Solid experience developing REST APIs,
• Practical experience with Azure SQL or other SQL databases,
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as Azure Event Hub or Kafka,
• Experience working with enterprise integrations and distributed systems,
• Good knowledge of OpenAPI / Swagger,
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps,
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes,
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery,
• Good understanding of microservices architecture,
• Good command of English (min. B2) and Italian (min. B2),
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Italy to visit the client.
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have

• Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.
• Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
