A payments technology company is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its growing engineering team. This is a hybrid role based in Cape Town, with flexibility for remote work for the right person.
You'll take a lead, hands-on role across the delivery cycle - building integrations with client and third-party systems, designing and building new functionality, enhancing and maintaining existing systems, resolving third-line queries, and mentoring other developers. The work is backend-heavy on secure, high-volume, real-time transaction systems.
What you'll do Build and maintain integrations with client and third-party systems Design and develop new functionality Enhance and maintain current systems Development testing, system security and audits Third-line query resolution Mentor and provide technical leadership to the team Improve development techniques and processes What you'll need A tertiary qualification (or equivalent training) in software development, computer science or engineering 8+ years' hands-on development experience Java (Standard and Enterprise editions) and Spring Boot SQL (MS SQL Server or Postgre SQL) A modern build and version-control workflow (Maven, Git) in a continuous integration and testing environment Comfortable with REST / Open API-based integrations Nice to have Exposure to financial transaction processing systems Multi-threaded, high-volume, real-time systems Agile delivery (Scrum or Kanban) Front-end experience with AngularHybrid (Cape Town), with remote flexibility.
