Senior IT Administrator at vay – Berlin | Jobyssey

Ever imagined saying, “I helped launch the future of transportation”?

We’re rewriting the rules of urban mobility. At Vay, customers tap a button and a car arrives - with no one inside - powered by our world-first Remote Driving technology on real public streets.

We’re live in Las Vegas and scaling fast, powered by a strategic investment of up to $410 million from Grab. Our mission is simple: replace private car ownership with a faster, cleaner, door-to-door mobility model. If you want to build something real, visible, and genuinely transformative, you’ll feel right at home here.

What’s happening at Vay

First to roll out vehicles in both Europe and the USA on public roads without a human being inside & currently the 2nd largest commercial, driverless car fleet in the Western World.
We've partnered with Kodiak to bring remote-driving technology to autonomous trucks in the US, showcasing our ability to integrate our system into heavy-duty commercial vehicles and expand the applications of our tech across the US.
We’ve completed 10’s of thousands of trips so far and are busy multiplying our Las Vegas fleet just to meet demand!
...And soon we’ll be expanding across the US & Europe 🚀

Why this role is exciting

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior IT Administrator to own and scale our internal IT operations, tools, devices, user management, and automation across Vay.

This will be in a central role working across almost every department at Vay, and supporting the entire organization by owning and evolving our internal IT systems and tools.

From managing Google Workspace and Atlassian products to troubleshooting daily issues, you’ll be the go-to person for everything IT. You'll have the autonomy to make improvements, automate processes, and scale infrastructure as we grow, while ensuring our internal systems run like clockwork.

What you'll be driving

Be the go-to IT person: across almost every department helpdesk, troubleshooting, vendor management, documentation, and internal tooling support
Evolve Vay's identity and access infrastructure: administer IdPs, configure SSO across all internal tools, and manage the full user lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
Design and implement IT systems from scratch: not just operate what exists, but identify gaps, propose solutions, and build them
Manage device fleet and MDM platforms across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments
Run network infrastructure for the Berlin office: Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, meeting room hardware
Automate everything worth automating: using scripting and workflow tools, including exploring AI/LLM-powered approaches
Manage IT security posture: MFA policies, access control, incident response, device lock/wipe, and support for compliance frameworks

This might be a great fit, if you have

At least 5+ years in IT administration with deep hands-on experience with Google Workspace and Atlassian administration.

Experience with IdP/SSO platforms: such as Okta, Azure AD/Entra, or similar
Proven MDM administration across macOS and Windows (Intune, Jamf, or JumpCloud)
Scripting ability in at least one of: Python, Bash, or Google Apps Script
IT security awareness: MFA implementation, access policies, incident response basics
A builder's mindset: you see broken processes and want to fix them, not just document them
Strong communication skills and comfort working independently in a small, high-impact team
