Senior Growth Marketing Manager

Threema is the world’s best-selling secure messenger for both private users and businesses. Since 2012, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that our users can communicate freely without worrying about their privacy. Our growing user base includes millions of private customers and thousands of businesses and organizations from all over the world.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and skilled

Senior Growth Marketing Manager (100%)

Your Role
As our Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you own how we turn interest into customers and customers into long-term users and advocates. You inherit a funnel with plenty of headroom left and make it work considerably better: you decide what to test, run the experiments, read the results honestly, and scale what wins. Your north star is marketing-driven revenue growth, and you are measured on it.

What makes this role unusual is the constraint you work within. We protect our users' privacy by design, and that promise shapes every tool the marketing team uses. Parts of the standard growth playbook are therefore off the table. You will still be expected to understand the customer journey in detail, reach customers at the right moment in their lifecycle, and improve conversion rates constantly. Doing all of that with first-party and aggregated data is the hard part of this job, and it is the reason we are hiring at senior level.

You will not be doing this alone. Our MarTech stack grows step by step together with our Performance Marketer and selected external partners, and your job is to set the direction for what it has to deliver for lifecycle marketing. You automate processes, where they slow down the team. This is a hands-on role, close to both the technology and the numbers. You will work through tracking implementations with our engineers and discuss CAC and payback with the Head of Marketing.

Your Responsibilities

• Continuously improve funnel conversion across the entire journey, from first touchpoint to paying customer

• Design, run and evaluate experiments to lift conversion rates, and turn the results into repeatable practice

• Explore, validate and prioritise new growth measures across the funnel and the customer lifecycle

• Drive the build-out and extension of our martech stack as the backbone for lifecycle marketing, together with our Performance Marketer and external partners

• Automate marketing processes, increase the efficiency and speed of day-to-day execution

• Keep the end-to-end customer journey in view and improve it continuously, based on both quantitative and qualitative insight

• Identify and implement growth hacks that deliver measurable impact quickly

• Mentor colleagues and share your expertise as the team grows

Your Skills

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in growth marketing, with a track record of measurable results

• A sharp focus on marketing-driven revenue and a clear understanding of how marketing activity translates into business outcomes

• Strong technical understanding of marketing technology, such as CDPs, no-code platforms, analytics and tag management

• A high level of technical fluency in web technologies and how they affect conversion and measurement

• AI literacy: you know the relevant tools and where they create real leverage in a marketing workflow

• Confidence with performance metrics and methods, from CAC, LTV and retention to cohort analysis, attribution and experiment design

• Excellent written and spoken German and English

About You

• Data-driven and performance-oriented

• A team player who shares knowledge rather than sitting on it

• Growth mindset

• Entrepreneurial thinker who takes ownership of outcomes

• Hands-on mentality: you enjoy doing the work, not only planning it

• Able to work independently and set your own priorities

What We Offer

• Pragmatic application process incl. compact assessment with practical tasks

• A young and motivated team with straightforward communication

• Opportunity to work on many different projects and improve and define processes

• Flexible working hours, option to work from home up to two days per week

• Up to two Workation weeks per year

• Option to take unpaid leave

• A dedicated budget for computer/workstation (macOS or Linux)

• Public transportation discount or parking space (electric car charging available)

• Free use of fitness room, including a fitness trainer once a month

• Professional massage once a month

• Internal German or English courses

• A great coffee machine :-)

• Regular events and get-togethers

• The good feeling of contributing to the effective protection of the privacy of millions of people
