Senior Graphic Designer

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer who can turn strategy into visual impact.

At Childcare Marketing Group, we help childcare centers and early education businesses attract more families, strengthen their brands, and grow. Our creative work is not decoration — it is a critical part of how our clients communicate, compete, and generate results.

As our Senior Graphic Designer, you will take ownership of visual execution across a diverse portfolio of clients. You will work from concept through completion, translating marketing strategies and campaign objectives into creative that is compelling, commercially-minded, and built to perform.

This is not a role for someone who simply waits for a brief and follows instructions.

We want a designer who can think, challenge, create, refine, and raise the creative standard. Someone who understands that great design combines creativity with strategy, knows how to work at speed without sacrificing quality, and has the confidence to own projects from beginning to end.

You will work across multiple projects, brands, and formats while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and consistently delivering work that clients are proud to put their name behind.

Compensation

• Competitive Compensation: Based on experience and level of expertise.
• Performance Bonuses: Additional earning potential may be available based on performance and company programs.

Why You Should Work Here

● Work That Matters: You help transform lives by supporting the marketing of businesses that care for and educate children. Your creative work helps childcare providers connect with more families who need their services.

● Recession-Proof Growth: Childcare is an essential industry, and our clients need effective marketing to continue attracting families, filling places, and growing their businesses.

● Leadership That Has Your Back: You’ll work with a supportive, attentive, and motivated leadership team that wants you to succeed and gives you the support to keep developing.

● An Owner Who Shows Up: Our owner is actively involved in the business and invested in building a high-performing company and team.

● Small-Team Feel: You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your ideas are visible, your work matters, and you’re treated as a person rather than a headcount.

● Remote-First Flexibility: Work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection while staying closely connected to a collaborative international team.

● Top-of-Market Opportunity: We want exceptional people and believe strong talent should have the opportunity to grow with the company.

● Train to Be the Best: Extensive initial and ongoing training, courses, and professional development designed to help you become exceptionally strong at what you do.

● A Workspace That Feels Alive: Our remote environment is designed to keep the team connected, collaborative, and engaged even when we're working from different parts of the world.

● Quarterly Town Halls: Regular company-wide updates so you understand what is happening across the business and where we are heading.

● The Dream-On Program: Our CEO grants multiple wishes each year pulled directly from team members' dream boards.

● 25 Days Off: A full 25 paid days off per year, because great work requires time to recharge and have a life outside work.

● Paid Days to Give Back: 4 paid days each year to volunteer with a charity of your choice.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will understand our creative standards, clients, workflows, and brand requirements and begin taking full ownership of your design projects.

Ongoing, you will be measured on:

● Creative Quality: Consistently producing polished, original, high-quality creative that meets or exceeds professional agency standards.

● Creative Ownership: Taking projects from initial concept through final delivery with minimal supervision and strong judgment at every stage.

● Brand Consistency: Ensuring every asset reflects the client's brand, audience, positioning, and campaign objectives.

● Strategic Design: Creating visuals that do more than look good — they communicate clearly, support marketing objectives, and contribute to measurable campaign outcomes.

● Speed & Reliability: Managing multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing quality or allowing important details to slip through the cracks.

● Attention to Detail: Catching inconsistencies, errors, spacing issues, formatting problems, and other details before work reaches the client.

● Collaboration: Working effectively with marketers, strategists, copywriters, account managers, and other creative team members to produce stronger work.

● Client Impact: Creating work that clients value, approve confidently, and can use effectively across their marketing.

A Typical Week Might Include

● Reviewing creative briefs and marketing objectives before translating them into visual concepts.

● Developing concepts, layouts, graphics, advertisements, social media creative, presentations, and other marketing assets.

● Taking a project from rough concept through design, revision, approval, and final delivery.

● Collaborating with Account Managers, Marketing Strategists, copywriters, and other internal specialists.

● Reviewing existing client creative and identifying opportunities to improve visual consistency and effectiveness.

● Managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing deadlines and maintaining quality.

● Presenting creative concepts and explaining the strategic thinking behind your design decisions.

● Responding to feedback, refining creative, and knowing when to push an idea further versus when to move forward.

● Staying current with design trends, creative technology, AI tools, and evolving visual communication practices.

Key Competencies

● Creative Thinker: You generate original ideas rather than simply replicating what already exists.

● Exceptional Attention to Detail: You notice the small things that separate good design from outstanding design.

● Strategic Designer: You understand that design needs to serve an audience, communicate a message, and support a business objective.

● High Standards: You hold your own work to a professional standard and are not satisfied with "good enough."

● Excellent Communicator: You can explain creative decisions clearly and confidently to both internal teammates and professional clients.

● Problem Solver: You can work through unclear briefs, creative challenges, competing priorities, and tight deadlines without becoming stuck.

● Adaptable: You can move between different brands, industries, audiences, and creative requirements without losing quality.

● Time Management Master: You know how to manage your workload, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver consistently.

● Collaborative: You know when to lead creatively, when to listen, and how to make the people around you better.

● Resilient & Self-Confident: You are comfortable receiving feedback, defending a strong creative idea when appropriate, and continually improving your work.

This Role Is Not for You If

● You are primarily interested in making things look attractive without considering the marketing objective behind them.

● You regularly miss small details that affect the quality of finished work.

● You are uncomfortable working in a fast-moving agency environment where priorities can change.

● You need constant supervision to stay productive.

● You are not interested in continuing to develop your creative skills and staying current with new design tools and trends.

Skills and Experience Required

● 5+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong track record of producing commercial, marketing-focused creative in an agency, in-house marketing, advertising, or similarly fast-paced environment.

● A strong portfolio demonstrating high-level commercial and marketing design work across multiple formats and industries.

● Thorough understanding of graphic design principles, including typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, colour, visual storytelling, and brand consistency.

● Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept through final execution.

● Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

● Strong understanding of designing for digital marketing, including social media, paid advertising, web, email, and other digital channels.

● Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

● Strong attention to detail and quality control.

● A reliable remote work setup and ability to work independently.

● Experience working across multiple client brands simultaneously.

● Experience with motion graphics, video editing, animation, or other multimedia design.

● Experience with Figma, Canva, or similar collaborative design platforms.

● Familiarity with AI-assisted creative and design tools.

● Experience designing for childcare, education, franchise, healthcare, or other multi-location businesses.

● Experience presenting creative concepts to clients or senior stakeholders.

● Understanding of marketing performance and how creativity can influence engagement, conversion, and acquisition.
