Define how country-specific requirements can be implemented within the capabilities and constraints of the existing POS environment.
Evaluate functional solution options and provide recommendations based on feasibility, maintainability, scalability, standardization, and business value.
Act as the senior functional interface between country stakeholders, discovery squads, product teams, solution architects, engineering squads, integration teams, and rollout teams.
Explain complex retail and POS processes to technical teams and explain system capabilities and constraints to business stakeholders.
Support engineering squads during technical solution design and implementation by providing functional guidance and clarifying expected system behavior.
Review technical solution proposals from a functional perspective and ensure alignment with business requirements and the standard solution.
Support the design of POS-related integrations, particularly in the areas of payments, EFT, fiscalization, peripherals, and connected retail systems.
Provide functional input for rollout planning, dependency management, and prioritization decisions.
Support root cause analysis for complex country-specific defects, production issues, and rollout problems.
Identify sustainable solutions that address root causes while minimizing country-specific customization and long-term complexity.
Define or review functional test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and end-to-end process validations.
Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect analysis, and go-live readiness activities.
Maintain high-quality documentation of requirements, functional designs, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and end-to-end functional flows.
Mentor Business Analysts and less experienced functional team members where required.
At least 8 years of relevant professional experience as a Functional Consultant, Senior Business Analyst, or in a comparable role.
Extensive experience working with complex software systems, preferably in an international retail or store technology environment.
Deep functional knowledge of retail, checkout, and POS systems.
Strong understanding of POS processes, system behavior, functional components, integrations, and operational dependencies.
Strong understanding of end-to-end retail processes, particularly checkout, sales transactions, returns, discounts, promotions, receipts, cash management, and store operations.
Extensive experience translating complex business requirements into detailed functional solution designs.
Proven ability to assess requirements against existing platform capabilities and identify appropriate standard or customized solutions.
Strong experience identifying, analyzing, and managing functional gaps in template-based implementation or rollout programs.
Experience working with fiscal, legal, and regulatory requirements affecting POS systems.
Strong understanding of functional integration patterns and dependencies within a POS ecosystem.
Experience conducting and leading discovery workshops, solution design sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis for complex functional and operational issues.
Ability to evaluate solution options and make well-founded recommendations based on business value, technical feasibility, scalability, and maintainability.
Strong documentation skills, including functional specifications, process flows, business rules, system behavior, and acceptance criteria.
Experience working closely with product managers, solution architects, engineering teams, integration teams, and QA teams.
Strong experience in Agile software delivery and international rollout environments.
