Early-stage startup Lesto Labs is hiring a full-stack product engineer for its consumer AI app that generates funny, shareable content. You'll own features end-to-end — mobile in React Native/Expo, web in Next.js, backend APIs and AI integrations in Node.js (Firebase, OpenAI, Stripe) — working directly with the founder.
Compensation: $120k – $180k • 0.2% – 1.0%
We’re building a fast-growing consumer AI product that helps people create funny, highly shareable content for their friends.
We’re looking for a strong mid-level engineer who wants more than a queue of tickets. You’ll work directly with the founder, own meaningful parts of the product, and help decide what we build—not just how we build it.
This is a high-autonomy role on a small team. You’ll move quickly, talk to users, ship across mobile, web, and backend systems, and see the direct impact of your work.
You do not need experience with every technology on this list. You should be comfortable learning quickly and taking ownership across the stack.
We care less about credentials and more about judgment, ownership, and the quality of your work.
The best engineers here are people who can balance speed with craftsmanship. They know when to keep a solution simple, when to dig deeper, and when to challenge an assumption. They do not wait for every requirement to be perfectly defined before making progress.
Experience with consumer products, mobile apps, generative AI, media processing, or early-stage startups is valuable, but not required.
Real ownership
You won’t be handed tiny pieces of someone else’s roadmap. You’ll own important product areas and have a real voice in how they work.
Direct access to the founder
You’ll work closely with the founder instead of navigating layers of management, meetings, and approvals.
A product people actually use for fun
We’re building consumer software designed to entertain people and help them connect with friends—not another internal dashboard or generic AI wrapper.
A small, ambitious team
Your ideas and output will matter immediately. You’ll help establish how the product and engineering organization operate as we grow.
Strong compensation and meaningful equity
We want great people to participate in the value they help create. This role includes competitive compensation and a meaningful equity package.
Within your first few months, you will have:
Send us a short introduction along with links to anything that demonstrates what you can build. This could include a product you shipped, an app, a GitHub project, a portfolio, or a brief explanation of a difficult engineering problem you solved.
Please also tell us:
We value clear, direct answers. A traditional cover letter is not required.
