Senior Full-stack Engineer (React Strength)

Who is Sharesource?

We are a social enterprise dedicated to connecting global opportunities with talented individuals. Currently, we serve Australian clients and aim to empower businesses to thrive by accessing the talent they need worldwide. Our mission is to support individuals in achieving success in their careers while fostering a company culture that embodies our values.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-stack Engineer (React Strength) who can design and build full-stack features across the client's React/TypeScript frontend and broader microservices ecosystem, including Golang, Rails, and Kotlin. The ideal candidate will have strong React expertise, solid backend understanding, and the ability to deliver features end-to-end, from user experience design through backend integration. You'll also contribute to the migration from legacy systems to modern architecture patterns, applying sound technical judgement to balance complex solutions with simpler, effective approaches while maintaining the reliability and quality the business depends on.

What are you expected to do?

• Design and build full-stack features across our React/TypeScript frontend and Kotlin/Go/Rails backends.
• Implement robust API integrations following our BFF (Backend for Frontend) patterns.
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using our design system.
• Write comprehensive tests and contribute to our strong CI/CD practices.
• Contribute to our user and system observability and monitoring, including being on-call.
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

What are the key relationships that are relevant to the role?

• Engineering Manager and Product Managers within the squad.

• Design/UX team for end-to-end feature delivery.

• Other engineers across the microservices ecosystem (Golang, Rails, Kotlin).
• Platform/DevOps team on observability, monitoring, and infrastructure.
• Engineers across the distributed team in Australia, Portugal, and Vietnam.

You'll be a great fit if:

• You have 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• You have experience with React and TypeScript, and modern build tools (Webpack, Babel).
• You have experience with backend development and API design (REST/gRPC), across Kotlin, Go, and Rails.
• You have experience with relational databases and data modelling.
• You have experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerisation.
• You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
• You have experience architecting and building full-stack features end-to-end, from UI to backend integration.
• You have experience with state management libraries (TanStack or similar).
• You have experience applying AI tooling and creating environments where agents can deliver solutions effectively.
• You have experience writing comprehensive tests and working within strong CI/CD practices.
• You have strong communication skills in distributed, async teams.
• You are comfortable working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.

It would be desirable if:

• You have a strong problem-solving orientation and can judge when a complex solution is warranted and when a simpler one will do.
• You operate with ownership and autonomy in a distributed, async-first team environment.
• You are collaborative, with strong product thinking and attention to craft.
• You are committed to continuous learning and professional development.
• You maintain a consistent focus on user experience and technical quality.

What you gain beyond the role:

• Remote + Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy the best of both worlds—collaborative office days when it counts, balanced with the freedom to work from home
• Achieve Work-Life Balance and Flexibility: Work in an environment where you're trusted and empowered to work independently, while still having the support you need to deliver your best. Here, flexibility isn't just a perk—it's how we help you perform at your best, without sacrificing life outside of work
• Open Culture: Your voice matters, we encourage proactive communication and fresh ideas
• Supportive Team: From your very first day to every career milestone, we've got your back—with long-term growth and projects you can truly thrive in
• Learn and Grow: Training, coaching, and international opportunities to level up your skills and career
• Be part of a B-Corp company that puts people and planet first while creating meaningful impact

Please note: This role is remote; however, we require candidates to be based locally in Vietnam. This is to support occasional onsite activities such as team events, client meetings, or equipment handover. Additionally, local residency is necessary for compliance with Vietnam labor laws and employment regulations.
