Job Summary

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you'll build and maintain features across illumend's product —from customer-facing UI to backend services and integrations — working closely with our product and engineering team to ship reliable, well-architected software quickly. You'll be trusted to own significant pieces of the product end-to-end and help raise the bar on technical quality as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

Own feature development end-to-end — from technical design through implementation,testing, and deployment
Build frontend experiences using React/TypeScript (Next.js) and backend services using Node.js and/or Python
Design and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party systems
Work with PostgreSQL and modern data modeling practices
Participate in code review, CI/CD, and release processes (GitHub Actions or equivalent), and help set technical standards for the team
Collaborate with design, product, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
Write clear technical documentation
Identify and fix bugs, and proactively improve code quality and system reliability

Qualifications and Requirements

Qualifications

Senior-level experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js
Backend experience with Python (FastAPI or similar) a plus
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and CI/CD practices
Track record of owning features end-to-end and making sound architectural decisions
Ability to work independently, communicate clearly in English, and move fast in a startup environment
Bonus: experience building AI-powered features or integrating with LLM APIs
