Senior Field Software Engineer: GNSS & Survey Apps

Experteer Italy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain field software used with GNSS receivers and surveying equipment across Android, Windows, Linux, and iOS. You will interface with Topcon and third-party systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to new features and documentation.

The role requires 3+ years of experience in Java and/or C++, strong OO design, and hands-on Android development with Android Studio; a global-project

Develop and maintain field software used with GNSS receivers and surveying equipment across Android, Windows, Linux, and iOS. Interface with Topcon and third-party field equipment. Collaborate with project managers, team leaders, and software teams to plan delivery and ensure quality. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and application issues. Support existing mature software while contributing to new features, testing, and documentation. Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement of software processes. 3+ years of professional software development with Java and/or C++. Hands-on Android development experience with Android Studio. Strong knowledge of OOP, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading. Experience with debugging, testing, documentation, and version control. Familiarity with bug tracking systems such as JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
