About Collate
Collate is an AI document generation platform for life sciences. We automate paperwork with AI, helping our customers get life-saving innovations to patients years faster. Collate is an end-to-end solution, powering every step of drug, diagnostic, and medical device development—from concept to market.
Our CEO Surbhi Sarna is a former General Partner at Y Combinator. Surbhi founded nVision Medical, which developed a new method to detect ovarian cancer and was acquired by Boston Scientific. Our CTO Nate Smith is a former Visiting Partner at Y Combinator and founder of Lever. Our AI researchers, engineers, and designers have worked at Google, Nvidia, Meta, Netflix, Amazon, AirBnB, Hippocratic AI, and Grail, and 40% of our team are former founders.
We’re an elite team, with $125M in funding from top investors (Redpoint, First Round Capital, CRV, Conviction, Y Combinator) and leaders in healthcare and AI. This is a rare chance to join an early-stage company with world-changing potential, experienced founders, and resources to execute at scale.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Enterprise Implementation leader to join our team and help build the foundation for how we onboard and support customers. From the moment a deal closes, you’ll own the customer journey — designing onboarding experiences, configuring solutions, and ensuring our product drives immediate value. You’ll work side-by-side with customers to understand their workflows, translate needs into product setups, and guide them through successful adoption. Collate is a fully in-person company based in San Francisco.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Full-Cycle Implementations - Drive implementations from kickoff to go‑live, including scoping, requirement gathering, configuration, testing, training, and deployment.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management - Serve as the primary liaison for clients, understanding complex scientific and regulatory workflows and ensuring their successful lift‑off.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work hand‑in‑hand with Product, Engineering, and Ops teams to define deliverables, manage scope, address technical challenges, and adapt solutions for regulated environments.
- Project Planning & Execution - Develop and manage detailed project plans, maintain schedules, track milestones, manage risks and issue escalation to ensure punctual, high‑quality delivery.
- Product Feedback & Process Improvement - Capture customer insights to inform product enhancements; contribute to refining internal implementation methodologies, templates, and tools to scale operations efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of client-facing implementation experiences - Successfully led enterprise software or platform deployments, preferably within life sciences, biotech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Project Management - Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects from kickoff through delivery. Skilled in planning, scheduling, risk management, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned.
- Thorough and Detail-Oriented - Known for a meticulous approach to requirements gathering, solution design, and execution. Able to anticipate gaps, catch inconsistencies, and ensure deliverables standards.
- Communication & Collaboration - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and scientific concepts for diverse audiences. Builds strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Bonus Points
- Work experience in pharma, biotech, or med device
- Prior experience at a startup — able to wear multiple hats, thrive in ambiguity, and build structure in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
