Senior Electrical/Hardware Engineer

Senior Electrical/Hardware EngineerThis role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Description:

At Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Senior Engineers don’t just execute designs—they shape platforms, influence architecture, and drive technology forward. If you are an experienced hardware engineer who thrives on complex challenges and wants your work deployed at global scale, this is your opportunity.

HPE is a global technology leader built on innovation, trust, and technical excellence. We invest in experienced engineers by giving them meaningful ownership, exposure to advanced technologies, and the autonomy to solve real‑world problems. You’ll collaborate with highly skilled peers in an environment that values sound engineering judgment, continuous learning, and long‑term career growth.

Why HPE Networking?

HPE Networking is one of our fastest‑growing and most strategic businesses, delivering open, standards‑based networking solutions across Branch, Campus, and Data Center environments worldwide. Our products support customers ranging from growing enterprises to the world’s largest hyper-scalers. As a senior member of the team, your designs will directly influence performance, reliability, and scalability across next‑generation networking platforms.

We are seeking a Senior R&D Hardware Design Engineer to join our high‑speed digital circuit design team, working on advanced networking systems where signal integrity, power integrity, and system‑level performance truly matter.

This is a role for engineers who want to lead technically, mentor others, and see their work shipped at scale.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a key technical role within a highly experienced R&D organization, contributing across the full hardware development lifecycle.

You will:

• Lead and own complex hardware designs, including component selection, schematic capture, board‑level architecture, bring‑up, debug, and validation.
• Drive high‑speed digital design decisions, addressing signal integrity, power distribution, and performance trade‑offs at the system level.
• Partner closely with cross‑functional and multi‑site teams—including layout, validation, manufacturing, and firmware—to deliver production‑ready designs.
• Influence design feasibility, margins, and reliability through upfront analysis and hands‑on validation.
• Perform deep root‑cause analysis and empirical testing on new and evolving designs, setting technical direction and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and engineering standards.

Why This Role Stands Out

• Senior‑level technical ownership on complex, high‑performance hardware
• Exposure to cutting‑edge networking platforms deployed globally
• Collaboration with experienced engineers across global R&D teams
• Opportunity to influence architecture, not just execute tasks
• Strong culture of engineering rigor, learning, and long‑term growth

About You

• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in complex systems and hardware design, including integrated circuits and high‑performance electronic platforms such as servers, mobile devices, or similar systems.
• Deep technical expertise in both digital and analog circuit design, with the ability to make sound architecture and design trade‑offs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a proven track record of resolving complex system‑level issues.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including experience in mentoring, guiding, and influencing engineering teams.
• Solid knowledge of, and strong interest in, high‑speed design, including signal integrity challenges and power distribution techniques.
• Hands‑on experience in the measurement, testing, and characterization of high‑speed digital signals.
• Extensive board‑level design experience using Cadence CAD tools such as OrCAD and Allegro.

Additional Preferred Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in both collaborative team environments and independently.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound, autonomous decisions in technically complex situations.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams; self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective listener.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and the local language; able to clearly articulate product architectures, present design proposals, and effectively discuss and negotiate technical options with senior management and stakeholders.

Health & Wellbeing

We strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.

Personal & Professional Development

We also invest in your career because the better you are, the better we all are. We have specific programs catered to helping you reach any career goals you have — whether you want to become a knowledge expert in your field or apply your skills to another division.

Unconditional Inclusion

We are unconditionally inclusive in the way we work and celebrate individual uniqueness. We know varied backgrounds are valued and succeed here. We have the flexibility to manage our work and personal needs. We make bold moves, together, and are a force for good.
