Senior DevOps Engineer (PH)

The opportunity

We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who views infrastructure as a product and operational excellence as an engineering discipline. You'll help own and continuously evolve the cloud platforms, deployment systems, observability, automation, and infrastructure that enable TechnologyAdvice engineers to deliver reliable software quickly and safely.

As an individual contributor on our distributed team, you'll independently identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, developer experience, and operational effectiveness. You'll own initiatives from problem discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, measurement, documentation, and ongoing improvement.

This is not a role focused solely on responding to tickets or keeping existing infrastructure running. We expect our Senior DevOps Engineers to understand where operational friction exists, identify recurring problems that should be engineered away, challenge unnecessary complexity, and proactively improve how TechnologyAdvice builds and operates software.

AI-assisted engineering is an expected part of how we work. You'll use modern AI tools to accelerate infrastructure development, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, incident investigation, and operational analysis while applying the systems judgment necessary to validate solutions before they affect production.

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of infrastructure tickets completed or alerts resolved. It's measured by improvements in system reliability, engineering velocity, operational efficiency, security, cost effectiveness, and your ability to independently identify and deliver high-value platform improvements.

The best candidates are naturally curious, highly autonomous, calm during incidents, and dissatisfied with solving the same operational problem twice. They enjoy understanding complex systems, eliminating repetitive work, and creating platforms that allow other engineers to move faster with confidence.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, share knowledge, and raise engineering standards across a team.

Our DevOps Engineering Philosophy at TechnologyAdvice

• We engineer away toil — Repetitive operational work is a signal that something can be improved. We automate recurring tasks, build reusable capabilities, and continuously reduce the amount of manual intervention required to operate our systems.
• We own reliability — Reliability isn't someone else's responsibility, and incident resolution isn't complete when the alert stops. We understand root causes, improve the system, and reduce the likelihood and impact of future failures.
• We build platforms, not bottlenecks — DevOps should make engineers more capable, not create another queue they have to wait in. We invest in self-service capabilities, reusable patterns, automation, and guardrails that allow teams to move quickly and safely.
• We embrace AI — We expect thoughtful use of AI-powered tools to accelerate infrastructure development, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, incident analysis, and operational work while maintaining rigorous standards for security, reliability, and production safety.
• We automate with judgment — Automation isn't valuable simply because something can be automated. We prioritize the problems where automation creates meaningful improvements in reliability, engineering velocity, cost, or operational efficiency.
• We optimize for outcomes — We measure success by healthier systems and more effective engineering teams—not infrastructure tickets completed. Reliability, deployment speed, recovery time, operational toil, security, cost, and developer experience are all outcomes we can improve.
• We design for failure — Production systems will eventually fail. We build observable, resilient systems with appropriate redundancy, recovery strategies, backups, and operational practices so failures are detected quickly and have limited impact.
• We continuously improve — Infrastructure is never finished. We challenge unnecessary complexity, modernize systems thoughtfully, reduce technical debt, evaluate emerging capabilities, and leave the platform better than we found it.
