Senior Developer -Front End

At Arctic Wolf, you won’t just watch the cybersecurity industry evolve – you'll help lead the change. Our global Pack is made up of people who thrive on solving hard problems, moving fast, and building technology that protects organizations around the world. We’re proud to be recognized by Forbes, CNBC, Fortune, CRN, Gartner Peer Insights and IDC MarketScape – but what matters most is the work behind it: delivering real outcomes for customers through award winning innovation like our Aurora Platform.

If you’re looking for meaningful work, smart teammates and the chance to make a real impact in a high-growth company that’s redefining security operations, Arctic Wolf is the right place for you!

Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for Senior Developer to be part of making this happen.

Position Overview and Objective

Our Frontend Platform team owns the shared frontend foundation — component library, build tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure. What we build is used broadly enough that good decisions scale well and poor ones surface quickly.

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer who is energized by that kind of leverage. You'll spend as much time understanding why something is broken as fixing it, writing the governance and tooling that prevents the next problem, and being a trusted technical partner to the feature teams who depend on what we build.

This is a senior technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and solid experience with Node.js services, along with a strong focus on engineering excellence, performance, scalability, and developer experience. You’ll lead platform improvement initiatives, mentor engineers on frontend best practices and architectural patterns, and help drive operational excellence across shared frontend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance frontend architectures using React and TypeScript

• Investigate systemic issues across the platform — audit unfamiliar codebases, identify root causes, and produce written findings and architectural recommendations before proposing solutions

• Build and maintain Node.js-based backend services supporting frontend platforms (e.g., BFFs, APIs, tooling services)

• Champion developer experience (DX) and frontend standards through automation, documentation, and tooling

• Guide developers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing. Mentor developers on frontend architecture, platform standards, testing strategies, and engineering best practices

• Treat the platform as a product. Identify friction in the development lifecycle and lead platform improvement initiatives that enhance usability, adoption, reliability, and developer productivity.

• Optimize application performance, bundle size, and runtime efficiency

• Drive adoption of modern frontend technologies and engineering practices

• Act as a technical partner to feature teams — balancing platform stability and backward compatibility with the ability to evolve APIs and patterns over time

• Contribute to Agile development processes including sprint planning, retrospectives, and iterative delivery practices

• Contribute to long-term technical strategy through written proposals and cross-team architecture conversations

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and React (hooks, state management, performance)

• Monorepo experience at scale (we use Nx — familiarity with task graphs and affected builds is a plus)

• Server-state management and client-side routing in a large React application

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and backend service development

• Experience with testing infrastructure: unit, component, and E2E (Vitest, Playwright, or equivalents)

• Demonstrated ability to independently investigate a complex codebase and produce clear written architectural assessments — not just code fixes

• Ability to balance ideal architecture with real-world constraints, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and effectively context-switch across multiple initiatives when urgent platform needs arise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on a dedicated Frontend Platform or Infrastructure Team

• Familiarity with:

  • Design systems and component libraries (Storybook, etc.)

  • Monorepos (Nx, Turborepo, Lerna)

  • CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions or similar)

  • TanStack Query and Router

• Deep understanding of:

  • Web performance optimization

  • Cross-browser compatibility

  • Accessibility (a11y) best practices

• Experience building developer tools (CLI tools, plugins, linters, codemods)

• Experience with frontend build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, Rollup, etc.)

• Strong knowledge of API integration patterns (REST, GraphQL)

• Knowledge of SSR/SSG frameworks (Next.js or similar)

• Exposure to micro-frontend architectures

• Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools
