You will be responsible for contributing to the collective ideation within your team’s area of focus and helping with the realisation of approved concepts within the NPI Operating Model milestones.

Responsibilities

• Generate original ideas and identify market opportunities, translating them into compelling product concepts from first principles up and be able to communicate these effectively (Sketches, Renders and Body diagrams etc.)
• Engineer mechanical and electronic systems that define future product specifications, optimising for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design and build functional prototypes, including bespoke test methods, for performance validation and stakeholder demonstration.
• Validate concepts through appropriate methods, hand calculations, simulations, and or rapid lab testing to assess concept feasibility and performance.
• Interpret test and simulation data, presenting insights and recommendations in technical / Desing reviews within the team and with key stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed design rationale and contribute to formal specifications, ensuring traceability and clarity in technical decision-making.
• Develop scalable mechanical systems using 3D CAD (NX), PLM (Teamcenter), and simulation tools (1D modelling, Ansys), collaborating with suppliers as needed.
• Collaborate with Research and wider cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies, stay current with industry trends, and apply emerging techniques to enhance product design.
