This role sits within a major regulatory and compliance transformation programme focused on strengthening monitoring reporting and oversight capabilities

The programme is aimed at modernizing data platforms and improving the ability to monitor operational activity and trends enhance compliance and risk management capabilities improve regulatory and management reporting strengthen audit readiness and data traceability improve data quality and governance practices and deliver trusted data to operational compliance and analytical stakeholders

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a collaborative delivery team supporting the ongoing evolution of enterprise data and reporting capabilities.

This role will focus on designing building and enhancing scalable data solutions that enable the collection transformation and delivery of critical operational and compliance related information across the organisation.

You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure data is accurate reliable and readily available to support reporting analytics and regulatory obligations

Key Responsibilities

• Develop maintain and enhance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL
• Design and optimise data integration processes across multiple systems and data sources
• Support the delivery of trusted data for reporting monitoring and analytics use cases
• Implement data quality controls validation processes and reconciliation checks
• Assist in the development of data models and curated datasets
• Improve data availability performance and reliability across the data platform
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements
• Contribute to data governance lineage and documentation standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the data engineering capability
• Leverage modern development tooling including AI assisted engineering tools where appropriate

Required Experience

• 8+ years experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong SQL development skills
• Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise scale data pipelines
• Strong understanding of ETL ELT principles and data integration patterns
• Experience with Azure data platform technologies
• Experience working with large and complex datasets
• Knowledge of data quality validation and governance practices
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience with modern engineering tools including AI assisted development platforms

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within highly regulated environments
• Exposure to compliance risk governance or regulatory reporting domains
• Experience supporting monitoring audit or compliance related reporting solutions
