Senior Data Engineer placed at one of Nordic Investin's partner companies in Stockholm: build batch and streaming data pipelines, model trusted datasets for analytics/ML, and expose data products via APIs with strong quality, lineage and observability. Core stack: Python, SQL, a cloud data platform (Databricks/Snowflake/BigQuery), CI/CD and IaC.
One of Nordic Investin’s partner companies is looking for a Senior Data Engineer, with Nordic Investin leading the recruitment process. You want data products to be dependable enough that analysts stop building workarounds around the platform.
The partner is developing modern analytics products for a data driven organisation. You will create pipelines, models and services that make complex data accessible while improving quality, lineage and operational ownership.
The partner wants data and AI work that can be operated, explained and improved after launch. Provenance, quality, access and evaluation belong in the solution from the beginning.
You will work with engineers, analysts and domain specialists who look at the same information from different angles. The partner expects assumptions, datasets and evaluation methods to be visible. Solutions should be designed for repeatable delivery, monitored use and responsible change after deployment.
As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work.
Build batch and streaming data pipelines.
Model trusted datasets for analytics and machine learning.
Develop APIs and services that expose data products.
Improve orchestration, testing and data quality controls.
Optimise performance and cost across the platform.
Collaborate with analysts, product managers and application engineers.
Strong Python and SQL in production data environments.
Experience with a cloud data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery.
Knowledge of orchestration, transformation and data modelling.
Experience with CI CD and infrastructure as code for data systems.
Understanding of data quality, governance and observability.
Professional English and product oriented collaboration.
dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
Kafka or another streaming platform.
Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics products.
Your background may be data warehousing, backend engineering, analytics platforms or large scale ETL. We are interested in engineers who treat datasets as maintained products with owners and users.
The role covers the full path from raw data to a capability people use. The partner offers significant technical scope and the chance to influence both platform patterns and individual analytics products.
The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time.
During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.
Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.
