Senior Cloud & Backend Engineer

Do you like building backend solutions that don’t just work, but keep working — secure, scalable, and easy to live with? At Framna, we’re looking for a Senior Cloud & Backend Engineer who knows their way around .NET and Azure, and who likes thinking beyond the code itself. Someone who can zoom in on a tricky backend problem, zoom out to consider the architecture and infrastructure around it, and build solutions made to last.

Become part of the team

Framna partners with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, like Swish, SJ, Essity, and SEB, to create digital products that define markets and deliver real-world impact. We are more than 600 people across ten studios, building apps and digital products used by millions every day.

As our next Senior Cloud & Backend Engineer you’ll join our team in Östersund, working alongside developers, designers, QA engineers, analysts, and product leads to take ideas from first sketch to live product.

You’ll also become part of Framna’s wider engineering and cloud community across our studios — sharing knowledge, discussing architecture, trying new approaches, and figuring out better ways to build together.

And while we collaborate across locations, Östersund is where you’ll call home. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around their colleagues and wants the office to be a natural part of their working week.

What you’ll do

This is a senior role for someone who enjoys owning the bigger technical picture. You’ll work across backend development, cloud infrastructure, architecture, and operations, with a particular focus on .NET and Microsoft Azure.

More specifically, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions primarily using .NET and Azure.

• Build and operate cloud infrastructure and applications with reliability, scalability, and performance in mind.

• Make architectural and technical decisions that help our products stay maintainable as they grow.

• Work with security, databases, networking, and cloud services to create stable and robust systems.

• Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and partners to turn both technical and business needs into great solutions.

• Share your experience with the people around you, whether that means mentoring another developer, leading a technical discussion, or simply helping the team solve a particularly stubborn problem.

Who you are

We imagine you’ve spent around 6–7 years or more working professionally with backend and cloud development, and that .NET and Azure have been a significant part of that journey.

But years alone don’t make someone senior. We’re looking for someone who has developed the judgement that comes with experience — knowing when to dig deeper, when to keep things simple, and how the decisions you make today will affect a product two years from now.

You might recognise yourself if you:

• Have strong professional experience with C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.

• Have worked with cloud architecture and understand the infrastructure surrounding the applications you build.

• Are comfortable thinking about the full lifecycle of a system, from development and deployment to monitoring and operations.

• Take pride in quality and don’t like solving today’s problem by creating tomorrow’s.

• Enjoy technical variety and are happy learning new tools or technologies when the problem calls for it.

• Like collaborating and sharing knowledge rather than disappearing into your own corner with a ticket.

• Feel comfortable taking technical ownership and helping less experienced developers grow.

• Enjoy working from the office and being part of the everyday life of a team.

About Framna

Framna means ‘to bring forward’ in Old Norse. And that is exactly what we do. We partner with industry leaders (and those about to be) to create excellent digital products that define markets, reshape industries, and deliver meaningful impact.

Born from the union of digital agencies Bontouch, Move, and Shape, Framna emerged from a strong, product-led culture. Today, over 600 of us collaborate across eight studios in Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the US.

Every day, millions of users around the world rely on the products we help shape. From seamless payments to daily commutes, from better health management to smarter shopping. Our work supports more than €150 million in daily transactions and consistently earns an average App Store rating of 4.5.

Together with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, including Essity, SJ, Swish, and SEB, we craft products that lead markets and push boundaries. Because when products win, businesses win. We call it Win by product.

What you get

• For us, it’s office first. Our Östersund studio makes that pretty easy. With views over Storsjön, plenty of space to work together, and even a dedicated room for four-legged colleagues, it’s an office with a personality of its own. We spend time together because we believe it creates stronger teams, better collaboration, and ultimately better products.

• A culture of curiosity. On Fridays we have weekly demos, Wednesdays mean lunch-and-learns, and sometimes we throw ourselves into conceptathons just to see what happens. We gather for company conferences to share ideas, and we make room for learning when there’s something new we want to explore.

• The freedom to follow your “what if.” We believe the best roles are shaped by the people in them. If you’re curious about something, you’ll have the trust and space to chase it — and probably a few teammates who want to jump in with you.

• Teammates who bring their whole selves. Designers who doodle during standups, engineers who can’t resist showing off a clever hack, product leads who keep the energy up when things get tricky — and, in Östersund, the occasional dog making an appearance too. Around here, people genuinely like sharing what they know and celebrating when someone tries something new.

• And of course, the benefits you’d expect. A generous wellness grant, top-up on your parental leave, occupational pension, and plenty more to make life outside of work easier.

Please note: For this role, you need to be based in Östersund, Sweden, or within commuting distance of our Östersund studio. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer relocation.
