Aurora is an industry leader in energy market forecasts, analysis, and consultancy — built on a highly skilled technical team and a commercial organization that is deeply integrated with the world's most influential energy sector participants. We are seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to lead growth across India and the broader APAC region, helping clients navigate the energy transition through Aurora's research, data, and software solutions.
This is a senior individual contributor role with real commercial ownership. You will manage a portfolio of high-value prospects and clients, lead complex multi-stakeholder sales processes, and play a meaningful role in shaping how Aurora grows in one of the world's most dynamic energy markets.
- Qualify, develop and maintain sales opportunities through the company and product knowledge, researching consumer needs, and identifying how our solutions can meet them. Predominantly in India, but there will be an expectation of leading multi-country deals across APAC and occasionally NORAM and EMEA.
- Represent Aurora across the industry, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
- Pitch our offerings and make proposals to existing and potential customers
- Negotiate and contract structured offers with C-suite decisions makers from some of the largest companies in India
- Use Salesforce CRM to ensure standard processes during all sales stages
- Contribute to new product development and improving our existing offerings
Required attributes:
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management — with a demonstrable track record of closing complex, high-value deals
- Strong commercial mindset, including creativity and intuition for opportunities that create impact and commercial success
- Experience selling into senior stakeholders (C-suite, investment committees, board level) in competitive environments
- Strong organizational discipline and a high degree of self-direction; this role requires someone who leads themselves as much as they are led
- Motivated by achieving tangible individual and team commercial targets
- Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and in the room — with the confidence to challenge, advise, and build trust at a senior level
- Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
- Intellectual curiosity combined with an eagerness to learn about the energy transition, Aurora, Aurora’s clients and how we can support them
Desirable attributes:
- Experience in business development, account management or client success within the energy sector
- Experience selling research or some form of subscription service
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system
- Previous professional exposure to energy economics, power markets and power networks would be an advantage
Some of the benefits we include are:
- Accidental, term life and medical insurance
- Hybrid Work model
- Employee’s Provident Fund Scheme
- Maternity leave
- A fun, informal, collaborative and international work culture
- Access to the Aurora Academy, our training programme offering a range of opportunities to develop your skills within the responsibilities of your role and within the wider context of the industry.
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering a complete support network that offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7/365, covering a wide range of personal and professional aspects
The Company is committed to the principle that no employee or job applicant shall receive unfavorable treatment on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity.
