Senior Backend Engineer (Incogni)

Join the Incogni engineering team and help us build the next-generation backend system that powers our products, Incogni and Ironwall, at scale. We’re looking for a senior backend engineer who thinks in systems, designs for growth, and is comfortable working across multiple technologies.

Our mission is to build a scalable, secure, and reliable service platform that supports rapid business growth and evolving product needs. You’ll work on core application systems and service architectures that sit at the heart of our platform.

If you want to:

• Design, build, and evolve high-traffic, business-critical backend services with a focus on scalability and reliability;

• Lead and influence architectural decisions — from domain modeling and service boundaries to infrastructure and deployment strategies;

• Drive the evolution of our next-generation service platform together with senior and lead engineers;

• Identify system bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements to support long-term growth;

• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end, from design to production;

• Write clean, well-tested code while raising engineering standards across the team.

And you can check off:

• Strong experience as a backend engineer building production-grade platforms and distributed systems;

• Solid understanding of software design patterns, microservice architecture, and RESTful API design principles;

• Confidence working with different programming languages and stacks, and picking the right tool for the problem;

• Experience working with databases, messaging systems, and distributed components;

• Comfort participating in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience building or scaling platforms that serve millions of requests;

• Proficiency in at least two backend programming languages (e.g., PHP, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript);

• Designed systems with reliability, observability, and operational concerns in mind.

Here's the deal:

• Growth and learning opportunities: time dedicated to learning, conferences, online learning platforms, and books for your professional development;

• Health and wellness: we want you to feel and be your best. That's why we offer various benefits, from online workouts, a physical coach and a gym to regular mental health checks;

• Tools of your choice: choose technical equipment and the tools you need to do your best;

• Community and celebrations: get ready for long-lasting traditions such as yearly workation, Friday get-togethers, various team buildings and company celebrations;

• Convenient commuting: traveling from point A to point B can be a pain. That’s why, depending on your unique circumstances, we compensate part of your public transport costs;

• Work-life balance: We encourage working in the office, with the possibility of up to two remote days per week. Plus, with our WFA policy, you can work from almost anywhere in the world;

• Premium Surfshark accounts: for you, your family, and friends;

• Gross salary: 5600 - 7200 Eur/month for the Lithuanian market, 23800-33400 PLN/month for the Polish market. It may vary depending on your skills and experience.
