Senior Backend Engineer on Toast's Technical Operations team in Dublin, serving as technical lead building backend services and data integrations that ingest engineering, tooling, and cost signals into reporting systems. Requires 5+ years of backend/full-stack experience, strong SQL/API and data modeling skills, and hands-on use of AI agents; hybrid, 2 days per week in the Dublin office.
Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.
The Technical Operations team makes Toast's engineering measurable. We connect tool and resource usage, engineering metrics, and customer outcomes into a single, trusted picture that executives, engineering managers, and developers use every day. If you are passionate about turning complex business and engineering processes into something teams can actually see, so they can spot bottlenecks and opportunities before they become major problems, use resources wisely, and ultimately deliver a better customer experience, this team is for you.
We are a small, highly leveraged team. We index heavily into agentic engineering: AI agents are part of how we design, build, test, and operate our systems, and we expect you to push that frontier with us.
This is a hybrid role where you will be based in the Dublin office two days per week
