About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Backend Developer to join their engineering team in Mahikeng. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and APIs that power our core products. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of scalable architectures, and a commitment to writing clean, efficient code. You will collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and other engineers to deliver robust and innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs. Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code using languages like Python , Java, or C#. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability. Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and contributing to coding standards. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues in development and production environments. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of professional experience in backend development. Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python , Java , Node.js, Go). Experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL) and/or No SQL databases (e.g., Mongo DB). Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
