Do you get excited about building software that scales to millions of users? Are you the kind of engineer who doesn't just fix problems — but reshapes the way a team works? And does the idea of your code directly impacting the fitness experience of 4.7 million members across Europe sound like your kind of challenge? Then keep reading.
At Basic-Fit, technology isn't a support function — it's how we grow. Our clubs run 24/7 thanks to the software and hardware we build in-house, and our members manage everything from freezing their membership to tracking their workouts through our app. That means what you build truly matters — at scale, across 6 countries, every single day.
This Is What Your Role Looks Like
As a Senior Backend Developer, you're not just shipping features off a roadmap. You're a pivotal engineer who shapes how the team works, raises the bar on quality, and helps define our long-term engineering direction. You'll be working in Tilburg alongside a talented mix of React (Native) developers, Node.js developers, Product Owners, Designers, QA Engineers — and even a Talent Coach dedicated to your personal growth.
Your responsibilities will be:
Your tech stack:
We build our applications with React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Storybook, Service Workers, Next.js and Playwright. Our APIs run on Nest.js, TypeScript, Prisma, Postgres, Redis, Azure EventGrid and Azure ServiceBus. To keep everything running, we use Heroku, Azure DevOps, New Relic, Akamai and GitHub Copilot.
Who Are You?
You're a problem solver at heart, with software as your weapon of choice. You understand that making real impact requires collaboration — you're not afraid to knock on doors to get things done. Scale and complexity don't intimidate you; they motivate you.
Additionally, we're looking for someone who:
At Basic-Fit, it's not just about work — it's about your growth. As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll have the freedom to make an impact and develop yourself in a dynamic, tech-forward environment.
What you can expect from us:
Basic-Fit is Europe's leader in the value-for-money fitness market, with more than 4.7 million members across 1,650+ clubs in 6 countries. We are continuously growing and improving — and technology is at the heart of how we do it. If you're looking for a place where you can make an impact while having fun at work, you've come to the right place!
