Build and lead the Android app for a UK digital bank, using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern mobile architecture to deliver secure banking features like accounts, payments, and onboarding.
LHV Bank Limited is a UK-licensed bank operating across three core business segments: Retail Banking, SME Lending, and Banking Services (BaaS). The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of LHV Group, a listed financial services provider headquartered in Estonia. LHV Bank operates under a full UK banking licence granted in May 2023.
The Bank supports over 200 fintech clients with embedded financial infrastructure, provides retail savings products via digital channels, and offers SME credit solutions across the UK. In line with its regulatory responsibilities and growth ambitions, LHV Bank is committed to maintaining a robust and proportionate financial crime control environment.
Expanding our services, LHV Bank now provides personal banking solutions. Our offerings include current accounts with competitive interest rates, fixed-rate bonds for long-term savings, and debit cards. Customers can conveniently access these services through the LHV App, enabling secure account opening and management.
About the team
You'll join LHV Bank's Retail Banking team, a cross-functional group of iOS, Android and Backend engineers working alongside Product and Design to build the app customers use to manage their money: accounts, cards, payments, savings, deposits, and onboarding/KYC. The Android codebase is modular and Kotlin-first, organised into independent core and feature modules.
About the role
We're hiring a Senior Android Engineer to take a leading technical role on the app. You'll own meaningful feature areas end to end, raise the bar on code quality and architecture, and mentor engineers across the team. You'll work closely with product, design, and backend engineering to ship features that are secure, fast, and genuinely good to use. There's also the option to contribute to our Kotlin backend-for-frontend (BFF), for engineers who want exposure across the stack.

Why LHV Bank
We're building a digital bank from the ground up, which means you're not maintaining someone else's decade-old stack. You'll own what you build, work with a team that cares about doing engineering properly, and see your code reach customers fast, not stuck behind six months of process.
