The Position

Senior Analyst (Data Strategy & Acquisition)

Roche India - Roche Services and Solutions

Hyderabad / Chennai

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.

That’s what makes us Roche.

Roche has established Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) to drive analytics & technology driven solutions by partnering with Roche affiliates across the globe.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build deep expertise in the external healthcare data ecosystem and contribute to decisions that shape how Roche uses data to support commercial and strategic business needs in the U.S. market.

You will be exposed to a broad range of U.S. healthcare and pharmaceutical data sources, including payer, market access, sales, claims, alerts, field, competitive intelligence, and market intelligence datasets. You will learn how these datasets are created, how they differ from one another, where they are strong, where they have limitations, and how they can be applied to real business questions.

You will work closely with U.S. stakeholders, external data vendors, and cross-functional Roche teams. The role provides a strong platform to develop skills in data strategy, vendor evaluation, stakeholder consultation, business problem-solving, and structured communication.

This opportunity is well suited for candidates with a life sciences, pharma, healthcare analytics, consulting, market research, business research, or commercial analytics background who are interested in moving into a broader data strategy and acquisition role. The role will allow you to develop the ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, assess business fit, and support informed data-related decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the evaluation, acquisition, and ongoing management of external healthcare and commercial data sources used by Roche U.S. business teams.

• Work with U.S. stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify use cases, and translate business questions into data requirements or evaluation criteria.

• Evaluate new and existing datasets and vendors based on business relevance, data coverage, methodology, usability, quality, limitations, and fit-for-purpose application.

• Support the assessment and maintenance of payer intelligence datasets, including sources such as MMIT and DRG Fingertip, to address commercial and market access business needs.

• Support the evaluation of sales, claims, alert-based, field, competitive intelligence, and market intelligence datasets from vendors such as IQVIA, Komodo Health, Evaluate, Citeline, Spherix Global Insights, Dedham Group, NCCN, and similar healthcare data sources.

• Partner with external data vendors to understand source methodologies, resolve data-related questions, clarify deliverables, and support timely access to high-quality datasets.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard datasets, document business requirements, track evaluation findings, and support decision-making around data investments.

• Apply structured thinking to assess whether a dataset can answer the intended business question, identify potential gaps or risks, and recommend practical next steps.

• Challenge assumptions and provide constructive pushback when data sources, methodologies, or stakeholder requests may not align with the intended business objective.

• Perform basic data review, profiling, validation, or exploratory analysis when needed to investigate data issues, compare data sources, or support dataset evaluation.

• Develop and maintain documentation, including dataset summaries, evaluation notes, vendor comparisons, business requirements, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to make data evaluation, acquisition, documentation, and stakeholder engagement processes more efficient and consistent.
