Who You Are

We are looking for a team member who considers themselves:

• Self-motivated - You can spearhead a project and see it through from start to completion, and you're equally happy to roll up your sleeves on production issues when they arise.

• A team player - You navigate cross-functional teams and work well across groups toward a common goal, balancing independent contribution with collaboration.

• An innovator - You see gaps in current processes or workflows as an opportunity to improve and try something new.

• A lifelong learner - You seek opportunities to learn and upskill, understand the importance of thorough and secure screenings, and are interested in the confluence of people, process, and technology.

What You'll Do

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join an international, cross-functional team building AI-driven solutions for background screening. You'll split your time between delivering new products and supporting the production workloads our customers depend on. You will:

• Work within a Scrum team on new products and initiatives, from design through delivery.

• Provide dedicated support for existing production AI/ML workloads, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuity.

• Build secure, well-optimized solutions using modern AI tooling.

• Develop and productionize ML models, and design end-to-end testing strategies to hold delivered solutions to a high quality bar.

• Deliver API integrations and data pipelines, optimizing for latency, throughput, and cost.

• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, and other departments on planning and execution.

• Ensure solutions meet the highest standards for security, compliance, and data governance.

What You'll Need to be Successful

• At least 5 years of experience across software engineering, AI, and machine learning.

• Strong programming skills in Python, including production ML work with frameworks such as TensorFlow.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark for building and scaling data pipelines.

• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing relational data.

• Experience building and serving models as APIs (e.g., FastAPI), with attention to latency, throughput, and cost.

• Practical experience with LLM APIs, RAG, OCR, and document recognition/NLP techniques.

• A solid grasp of MLOps practices, including automated training and deployment.

Nice to Have

• TypeScript/JavaScript for API and service development.

• Knowledge of Azure, including serverless architectures and API gateways.

• Familiarity with MLOps and orchestration tooling (e.g., Azure ML, MLflow, Airflow, Prefect).

• Experience with containerization and IaC (Docker, Bicep/Terraform).
