Senior Account Executive

We're looking for a Senior Account Executive to own full-cycle new-logo revenue for Cytix's biggest and most complex deals, in a market where most of the people you're calling haven't heard of us yet. You'll be selling a product, not a service, into CISOs, security engineers and AppSec leads who are used to being pitched by categories they already understand.

Your job is to earn a conversation with almost no brand recognition behind you, then run a genuinely consultative sale that gets underneath what a prospect is actually trying to achieve, not just what they say they want.

You'll take on enterprise and partner-adjacent opportunities, competitive procurement, and buying groups that span security, engineering and the economic buyer. You'll also set the bar for the wider sales team: shaping how SDR intake and Customer Success handoff work, and helping newer Account Executives find their feet.

What you'll do

• Own full-cycle new-logo opportunities from first qualified meeting through discovery, technical evaluation and signature, sourced by SDR, Marketing, partners and your own prospecting.

• Self-source a meaningful share of your own pipeline; build an account plan from a cold list rather than relying on inbound or SDR support.

• Run multi-threaded discovery across security, engineering and economic buyers, uncovering pain that a single conversation would miss.

• Own commercial negotiation, procurement and security review through to signature, including competitive processes, without needing support from the CRO.

• Maintain an accurate weekly forecast, with commit-to-close accuracy within 10%, sustained over multiple quarters.

• Shape SDR intake criteria and the Customer Success handoff standard; informally mentor newer Account Executives on deal strategy and technical positioning.

• Hand off cleanly to Customer Success at close, with deal-stage commitments documented in the CRM.

What you'll bring

• 5–7+ years' full-cycle closing experience in B2B SaaS, ideally selling a technical product, not a service, into security or engineering buyers.

• A demonstrable track record of carrying and hitting quota of £750k–£1m+, at or above 100% in at least two of the last three years.

Genuine consultative selling skill: comfortable asking why before pitching how, and building a business case from first principles rather than a script.

• Confidence selling into accounts where Cytix has little or no existing brand presence, building credibility through the conversation itself rather than a logo slide.

• A track record of pushing through setbacks and coming back stronger, and of actively seeking out the harder, less familiar deals rather than waiting to be asked.

• Genuinely bright and inquisitive: you ask sharp questions, pick things up fast, and enjoy getting to the bottom of a problem, whether that's a prospect's business or how Cytix's product works under the hood.

• Drawn to a business where new challenges show up daily; you take ownership of them and lean in, rather than waiting for someone else to sort it out.

• Comfortable taking yourself out of your comfort zone: new deal types, new buyer personas, situations you haven't fully rehearsed.

What you'll get

• Share options - If Cytix wins, you should too.

• Unlimited Holidays!

• Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.

• Pension - 8% (3% employer, 5% employee)

• Private Healthcare through Vitality including dental, optical and hearing

• Work from anywhere (WFA)

• Claude Tokens

• Celebrate your birthday with a day off work

• Octopus car scheme - Drive an electric car through salary sacrifice

• Inclusivity as standard - A team where you can do your best work as yourself, no asterisks.

About Cytix

• Software never stops changing. Teams ship new code every day, through tickets, pull requests, releases, and increasingly with AI in the mix, but the way security keeps up with all that change hasn't really moved on.

• That's the problem we're solving. Cytix helps organisations understand which software changes actually matter, what should happen next, and how to prove the right call was made. Security understood, in other words.

We're a small team with big plans, so every person we hire genuinely shapes what Cytix becomes. That's why we're upfront about our five values: we interview for all of them, and they matter to us more than a perfect CV. They're things you do, not things you are, so have a read and see if they sound like you.

Make the first move. When the goal is clear but the path isn't, you get moving rather than waiting for perfect instructions. If you're blocked, you make a sensible call, say what you're assuming, and explain how you'd course-correct. We'd rather you act and be slightly wrong than sit still.

Find the smarter path. You ask why before how. You dig into what the real problem is instead of just building what the spec says, and you're happy to question 'that's how it's always been done' when the reason behind it has gone stale.

See it through. When something's yours, it lands. No loose ends, no surprises for whoever picks it up next. You keep people posted when things change, and if something falls between roles, you catch it.

Raise the bar. You do the best job possible in the time you've got, whether that's a day or a month. Sometimes that means deep craft; sometimes the smartest move is quick and scrappy. It's about good judgement, and we hold each other to it without blame or politics.

Play to win. You care about the mission but don't take yourself too seriously. You say 'I' when things go wrong and 'we' when they go right, trust teammates to do things their own way, and bring a bit of humour when the pressure's on.
