Alpine Macro, part of the Oxford Economics Group, is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Sales Intern to support the expansion of our institutional investment research subscription business across the Asia-Pacific region.
Based in Hong Kong and reporting directly to the Director, the successful candidate will support market research, lead generation, sales operations and client engagement activities, with a focus on identifying new business opportunities across asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors.
This internship offers hands-on experience in institutional sales, Salesforce CRM management and business development, with exposure to global macroeconomic research, investment strategy and our Oxford Alpine One offering.
Sales and Lead Generation
- Conduct market research across APAC to identify prospective institutional clients and new business opportunities.
- Build targeted prospect lists, identifying relevant financial institutions and key decision-makers, including portfolio managers, investment strategists and chief investment officers.
- Support outbound lead generation initiatives and targeted sales campaigns.
- Monitor financial market developments, institutional investment trends and key personnel changes to identify potential opportunities.
- Assist the Director with prospect outreach, client meeting preparation, presentations and business development materials.
CRM Management and Sales Support
- Maintain and update Salesforce CRM, ensuring accurate prospect information, contact details and sales records.
- Research, verify and organise prospect data to support lead generation and pipeline development.
- Assist with lead tracking, pipeline reporting and sales activity analysis.
- Support multi-touchpoint outreach campaigns using Salesforce and other sales engagement tools.
- Work closely with the Director to improve prospecting efficiency, CRM data quality and sales campaign effectiveness.
The ideal candidate is analytical, independent, commercially curious and detail-oriented, with an interest in financial markets and institutional sales.
Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Good research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify prospective institutional clients and business opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and an interest in business development, financial markets and investment research.
- Existing right to work in Hong Kong.
Desirable
- Previous experience using Salesforce CRM for prospect research, lead management or sales reporting.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, Lusha or similar prospecting tools.
- Academic background in finance, economics, business, management or a related discipline.
- Previous internship or extracurricular experience in sales, financial services, asset management or market research.
- Understanding of institutional investors, macroeconomic trends and financial markets.
- Mandarin language proficiency would be an advantage but is not required.
