Bunzl Processor Division (BPD) is seeking an experienced Industrial MRO Sales Product Specialist to drive growth within bakery, meat processing, and produce manufacturing accounts. Only applicants from the following states will be considered: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas.
This role focuses on identifying, developing, and expanding MRO opportunities within processing facilities by partnering with customers to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and consolidate suppliers. The successful candidate will work closely with sales teams and customer decision-makers to uncover opportunities involving maintenance, safety, facility, and plant-floor products.
This is a highly consultative business development role requiring industrial sales experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to engage maintenance, operations, engineering, and procurement professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Drive profitable growth within existing manufacturing and processing accounts.
- Identify and develop new MRO business opportunities.
- Conduct facility assessments to uncover cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Account Managers to expand customer penetration and wallet share.
- Build relationships with maintenance, operations, engineering, and purchasing stakeholders.
- Develop and implement pricing and product conversion strategies.
- Present value-based solutions that improve productivity, inventory management, and procurement efficiency.
- Maintain an active pipeline and manage opportunities independently.
- Significant travel throughout the region with some international travel.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial sales, MRO sales, maintenance supply sales, or industrial distribution experience.
- Experience selling into manufacturing, processing, warehousing, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated success in business development and growing existing accounts.
- Experience working directly with maintenance managers, plant managers, operations leaders, engineers, or procurement teams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel required.
- Experience with IBM I-Series/AS400 operating system highly desired.
- Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays with some occasional international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food processing, packaging, bakery, produce, or protein industry experience.
- Experience identifying inventory reduction, supplier consolidation, and cost savings opportunities.
- Knowledge of plant operations, storeroom management, maintenance practices, and industrial purchasing processes.
