Sales & Business Developer at Byte2Bit

We’re hiring: Sales & Business Developer at Byte2Bit

Byte2Bit is looking for a sales professional to help grow enterprise adoption of Atlas and our other data compression products.

We build technology for teams working with large scientific and numerical datasets. Atlas reduces storage and data movement through lossless and error-bounded compression, supporting formats including GRIB, NetCDF, HDF5, Zarr, NumPy, GeoTIFF and SEG-Y.

We’re looking for someone who can turn this technical value into customer relationships and recurring software contracts.

What you’ll do

• Identify and approach enterprise customers with significant data storage and transfer needs.

• Build and manage a sales pipeline, from initial outreach through negotiation and closing.

• Speak with technical users and business decision-makers to understand their workflows, priorities and purchasing process.

• Work with our technical team to organise demos, benchmarks and customer evaluations.

• Translate evaluation results into a clear business case, including potential cost savings and workflow improvements.

• Develop partnerships and bring customer feedback into our product and sales strategy.

Who we’re looking for

• A track record of selling software, data infrastructure, cloud, storage or other technical solutions to enterprise customers.

• Experience generating your own leads and closing recurring software contracts.

• Confidence working with scientists, engineers, IT teams and commercial decision-makers.

• The ability to guide a technical evaluation toward a purchasing decision.

• Clear communication, disciplined follow-up and ownership of the sales process.

• An interest in learning how our technology works and where it delivers value.

Experience in scientific data, energy, weather, geospatial, research, engineering simulation or industrial markets would be an advantage. Relevant customer relationships and experience selling for an early-stage technology company are particularly welcome.

Why Byte2Bit?

You’ll work directly with our team, help shape our commercial approach and sell technology with measurable results on customer datasets. There is room to influence which markets we pursue, how we demonstrate value and how we build lasting customer relationships.
