Robotics Software Engineer (all genders welcome) - Maritime Robotics – Manipulator Control & Trajectory Planning (AUV)

As a Robotics Software Engineer specializing in maritime robotics, you will be responsible for the control and trajectory planning of manipulator arms on autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) used for close-range inspection of maritime infrastructure. You will develop robust, ROS2-based algorithms and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and research partners to drive innovative solutions in underwater robotics.

What you can expect

• You develop the control of various manipulator arms on autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), take care of efficient kinematics computation, and work on trajectory planning for our manipulator arms, which perform close-range inspections and non-destructive testing tasks.

• You design inspection solutions for critical subsea infrastructure (e.g. pipelines, offshore platforms, energy and communication networks) and validate them for deployment under real ocean conditions.

• You plan, conduct, and evaluate simulations and maritime field tests, analyzing relevant sensor and navigation data.

• You use modern software development environments and open-source frameworks (in particular ROS2) as well as relevant libraries to implement and evaluate your algorithms.

• You work closely with other teams within the Subsea group, including high-level mission planning, manipulator control, and vehicle control, as well as with external partners such as universities and research institutions, actively contributing to joint research and development projects.

What you bring

To become part of the Rosenxt family, you stand out through an independent, structured and team‑oriented way of working as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. You also bring:

• You have a degree in a technical field such as robotics, computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on maritime robotics or AUV-based inspection.

• You have several years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or maritime robotics.

• You have solid knowledge of control engineering (ideally for manipulators) and relevant libraries for computing kinematic chains, along with strong programming skills in C++ and hands-on experience with ROS2-based systems.

• You have a strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills within interdisciplinary teams.

• You have a genuine affinity for research and collaboration with universities and research institutes.

Look forward to

• Development and career opportunities in a global, innovative and long-term oriented group of companies with family character

• Flexible working hours, working time accounts and Home Office possible

• An open corporate culture, where we celebrate success with social events

• Compatibility of work and family through our company-owned day care center

• Employer funded pension, capital accumulation benefits and discounted insurance offers (occupational disability insurance and other direct insurance policies)

• Company Restaurant (in Wietmarschen-Lohne) and fresh fruit daily

• Various in-house sports activities (EGYM Wellpass and other offers)

• Attractive leasing offers for IT-products and bikes for private use

• Discounted charging facilities for electric vehicles directly at the company location
