Relief Mobile Library Driver/Assistant - LGV

Relief Mobile Library Driver / Assistant | 9777 | Casual Contract | Variable hours | £14.36 per hour (Scale E) | Norfolk

Do you have a category C driving licence?

Do you have a Driver Qualification Card (CPC)?

Are you well organised and enthusiastic about providing a service?

If so, we would like to hear from LGV Class C or C+E drivers who would like to join our mobile library team.

We are looking for Relief Mobile Library drivers to operate from our Whitegates base in Hethersett and on occasion may also be required to work from our bases at Dersingham and East Dereham. A flexible approach is essential for this role as there may be a need to cover for other colleagues' absence from time to time.

The role of a Mobile Library driver involves checking the vehicle, making sure it is well stocked and following the route timetable for the day. You will be serving the public, helping them choose books from the vehicle and assisting with information requests, so the ability to get on with a wide cross section of the community is really important.

To be considered for this post you will need to be able to demonstrate you can work with people, have basic computer skills, have some cash handling experience, enthusiasm and can work on your own initiative.

An LGV - Class C or C + E driving licence is essential for this position as is a Driver Qualification Card. Please note a category C1 licence is not acceptable for this post. A flexible approach to working arrangements is also essential as early evenings and late afternoons will be needed.

Applicants will require GCSE level of education or equivalent or relevant experience.

For an informal discussion or more information about the position please contact: William Buhler, Mobile Libraries and Delivery manager on 01603 222915.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job description and person specification to help you demonstrate how you meet the criteria. You can also find information on our Terms and Conditions here.
