Position Title: Recruiter (On site)
Scope: Manufacturing & Operations Talent Acquisition
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Preferred Profile
• 2+ years of recruiting experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments
• Demonstrated success filling hourly and shift-based roles: operators, skilled trades, and technicians
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and major job posting platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills — equally comfortable with a production operator or a senior department manager
• Self-directed and organized; able to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously
• Familiarity with the Western New York labor market is a meaningful plus
• Experience working directly with or reporting to senior leadership preferred
• Knowledge of EEO/OFCCP compliance requirements for manufacturing environments a plus
Role Purpose:
• Manage full-cycle recruiting in support of Steuben Foods' manufacturing and operations hiring needs, reporting directly to the COO.
• Serve as the key connection between Steuben Foods and the skilled trades and operations talent that keeps our production lines running.
• Partner with the COO and department managers to solve real hiring challenges in a competitive manufacturing labor market.
• Own the candidate experience from first contact through onboarding handoff to HR, ensuring consistency and professionalism at every step.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Full-Cycle Recruitment
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for roles spanning production, maintenance, quality control, warehouse, lab, blending, and processing departments
• Screen applicants, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and coordinate structured interview panels with department managers
• Manage and maintain active job postings across all platforms, including the company careers page
• Manage or support the ATS to keep requisitions, candidate records, and communications current
2. Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Management
• Source candidates through job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter), direct outreach, and local partnerships with trade schools, community colleges, and workforce development programs
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles — particularly 3rd shift and specialized technical positions
• Represent Steuben Foods at local job fairs, workforce development events, and community hiring initiatives
3. Stakeholder Partnership & Reporting
• Partner with the COO and hiring managers to clarify role requirements, set hiring timelines, and align on candidate profiles
• Track and report key recruiting metrics: time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance rate, and pipeline health
• Ensure a consistent, professional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding handoff to HR
• Maintain compliance with EEO requirements and company hiring policies; support affirmative action goals
What success looks like:
• Roles filled on time, with minimal time-to-fill across active requisitions
• Strong, growing pipeline of qualified local candidates for recurring and shift-based roles
• Consistent, professional candidate experience and positive hiring manager feedback
• Accurate, up-to-date requisition and pipeline reporting to the COO
• Steuben Foods recognized as an employer of choice in the Western New York manufacturing community
