Role Summary:
The Quality Engineer develops and improves inspection processes that ensure the quality and reliability of Beck’s machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies. This role supports manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality through expertise in inspection methods, GD&T, CMM programming, and fixture design. The position works cross-functionally to solve quality challenges, evaluate new technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining effective and efficient inspection processes to support the Quality Assurance department with inspecting a wide variety of machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Responsible for keeping inspection processes current and optimized.
- Review new product designs for inspection requirements.
- Troubleshoot inspection issues timely and effectively.
- Assist engineering with testing and evaluation of new designs and modifications.
- Provide technical support to outside suppliers as required.
- Generate inspection programs for coordinate measuring machines.
- Research and prepare cost / benefit analysis of capital equipment.
- Responsible for monitoring emerging technologies and evaluating their fit and potential benefit to Quality Assurance operations.
- Interact with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.
