We're seeking a QA Engineer to join us at Space Inch. In this role, you'll help design and implement automated tests, support our QA processes, and work alongside experienced engineers to make sure our apps meet a high standard of quality. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, learn from senior QA engineers on testing best practices, and build up the skills to catch issues before they become problems. It's a great opportunity to grow your QA career in a supportive, hands-on environment - and as our QA team grows, there's potential for you to grow into a more senior role alongside it.
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
At Space Inch, we prioritize alignment with our clients and team, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs. We are committed to delivering exceptional work while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team members.

- We are remote-first, but occasional travel may be required, e.g. for our annual company retreats
- We work on end-to-end projects with a long-term vision
- We strongly support work-life balance for our team members, even though we work in different time zones
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in QA, with some exposure to test automation (framework development experience is a plus)
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in test automation: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or Ruby
- Familiarity with at least one automation tool (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO, or Jest)
- Good API testing experience (e.g., using Postman)
- Basic understanding of Git and exposure to CI/CD concepts (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) - willingness to learn is key
- Practical, everyday experience using AI tools, and genuine openness to incorporating AI-assisted approaches into QA work
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; detail-oriented, organized, and eager to build structured testing practices
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent English skills
- Eagerness to learn from senior QA engineers and grow into more advanced testing responsibilities
Bonus points:
- Basic exposure to cloud platforms or non-functional testing concepts
- Experience with mobile device test automation frameworks (e.g. Appium, Maestro)
What you'll do
- Help design, build, and maintain automated tests for web, mobile, and API applications under guidance from senior QA engineers
- Write and execute functional and regression test cases, both automated and manual
- Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help analyze results to flag defects
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand acceptance criteria and contribute to product quality discussions
- Conduct manual and API testing as needed, and maintain clear, detailed test documentation
- Learn from senior team members and gradually take on more ownership of test scenarios and tooling
Qualities for Success
- Quality-first mindset with strong attention to detail
- Curious and proactive - you like digging into why something broke, not just flagging that it did
- Comfortable asking questions and making testing decisions with guidance, while building toward more independence
- Eager learner who wants to build up testing tools and methodologies over time
- Genuine care for product quality and user experience, even if you're still building the experience to back it up
Where you've likely developed these skills
- Work, personal, academic, or internship projects involving testing or QA
- Roles in product-focused tech companies
- Exposure to agile teams
- Self-directed learning - bootcamps, certifications, or hands-on practice with automation tools
You're a great fit if you
- Enjoy learning to build test suites that catch bugs early
- Value thorough testing and like asking "What if?" questions
- Want to grow technically and are excited to learn from senior QA engineers
- Thrive in collaborative environments where QA is everyone's responsibility
- Care about shipping reliable software and want to build the skills to make that happen
This role is not a fit if you
- Want to do only manual testing with no interest in learning automation
- Prefer heavy, ongoing supervision on every task rather than gradually taking on more independence
- Are passively focused solely on finding bugs rather than getting curious about preventing them
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary: 2400 - 3200 EUR gross 1, based on experience and skills
- Remote-first setup with optional use of our Zagreb office
- Stay active: Multisport card or wellness subsidy
- Health & Wellbeing: 100% paid sick leave + annual health checkups
- Extra perks: Christmas bonus and referral bonus
- Grow with us: Education budget to fuel learning and professional development
