Salary: $120,000-$130,000 + Super
Cadence Connect is partnering with an established organisation on the Sunshine Coast to find a QA Software Engineer for its Technology team.
This role suits someone who wants to own quality, not just test at the end of a sprint.
In this role you’ll take ownership of test automation across web, mobile and API platforms. You’ll get involved early, reviewing requirements and user stories before code is written, and work with developers, product and design to agree clear acceptance criteria. You’ll also help developers write code that’s easier to test, and support the growth of junior QA team members.
What you’ll be doing - Building and maintaining automated test frameworks for web, mobile and API testing
- Running automated tests as part of the CI/CD pipeline so every build is checked
- Testing REST and GraphQL services with Postman or code-based tools such as REST Assured
- Writing test plans and edge-case scenarios, and doing hands-on exploratory testing
- Checking data integrity with SQL
- Logging, tracking and retesting defects in Jira, and running regression testing to keep releases stable
What you’ll bring - 5+ years of commercial experience in software QA engineering
- Hands-on automation experience with Cypress, Playwright or Selenium
- Strong coding skills in Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript
- Solid API testing experience
- Confidence writing SQL against PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar
- Experience working in Agile teams, with clear written and verbal communication
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience
- ISTQB certification is highly regarded
Why apply
This is a permanent role where you’ll have real input into how quality is built and measured, with the chance to grow automation coverage and lift release confidence over time. It also offers a career step without leaving the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
